Lucy laughed at Tim's comment and turned to hug him. She pressed a light kiss into his lips. He smiled. What? She said nothing he said life's good right now he exhaled.
They got to work, Lucy changed nyla walked in hey girl she said placing her hand on her shoulder. Gosh mini you is growing away isn't she nyla smiled placing her hand on Lucy's belly. She still had a small bump but had to size up in her clothes. Try telling Tim it's a girl she laughed. Lucy and Angela were paired together. Before leaving Tim said be safe you're carrying precious cargo. She hit his arm playfully and left. Bradford and harper entered their shop and began the day.
Angela and Lucy chatted as the day went on.
Dispatch reports of shooter at miles of smiles preschool requesting all units. Angela's face panicked Lucy that's jacks preschools she said. Get out said Lucy you can't drive. Lucy and Angela swapped they arrived in record time. Angela panic taking over scanned the area Tim and nyla arrived what do we know he said. Gray explained that there was a group of children inside gray listed the names

Jack
Everyone's eyes went to Angela and she threw up and her legs gave way she passed out. Tim seeing this caught he and lay her in his arms. Gray and nyla went to her straight away Lucy's eyes scanned the building she had her bullet proof vest on. She looked for an in to take the shooter by surprise.
Another officer shouted Bradley and Jane are safe.
Lucy's heart pounded. Her thoughts were on jack he was only just over one how scared he must be. She placed her hand on her bump Lucy left the group and joined a smaller group of 2 officers talking about the shooters whereabouts they moved in.
Angela gasped and came round in Tim's arms. Hey he said tears streamed her face she was a mess. It's just jack in there now gray said. Nyla turned to Tim and muttered the words that made his heart stop. Where's Lucy she asked. Tim shot up and looked around. He scanned different entrances with no luck. Gray pressed his walkie talkie gray to Chen come in.
Chen responded here sir

C- moving inside now
A final beep signalled that she turned off her radio. Tim's heart sank. Angela looked at him both held each other. They looked at the door willing Lucy and jack to come out that's all they could do.

Inside Lucy's breathing quickened she took a second to centre herself. She moved in clear she said to herself. Turning to the toddler room. She looked scanning quickly gun at the ready. She grabbed her belly with one hand. Breathing in she said Dont kick me now little one. Cl- lulu a small voice cried. Jack she said Jacks small head popped out from under some stuffed animals. Come here baby she said opening her arms crying jack ran in to her embrace she held him tight. She heard footsteps and immediately placed her hand over jacks mouth. Shhhh she said. Jack buried his head into Lucy. She cradled him close and hid behind the door. The shooter had entered the room. Lucy held jack with one hand and slowly put him down her hand still covering his mouth to stop the cry's. He stood behind her grabbing her leg. She took her gun. Hey police drop it. The shooter turned around gun poised at her. A single shot could be heard.

Outside Tim and Angela grabbed each other nyla turned to gray what do we know. Gray responded we are blind we don't know anything. Wes arrived.

Inside the shooter fell to the ground Lucy let go of jack whose cries filled the room. She took the gun from him and picked up jack who clung to her. She began to walk out his cries stopped and he snuggled close to Lucy he put his hand in her top and played with her necklace. Shh she said soothing him. Auntie lulu has you baby. She got to the entrance.

JACKKKKKKK screamed Angela. She saw Lucy carrying jack close to her body. Wes and Angela ran to Lucy.
Jack look said Lucy as they got closer. It's mamma and dada. Jack turned and Angela took him holding him and sobbing. Wes held both of them. Lucy felt her belly to get a kick from her little one. Nothing. Going calm now the actions over hey she said.

Tim ran to Lucy you're a fucking idiot he said but I love you so fucking much he said kissing her she hugged him back. They closed the scene. Jack was cuddled with Wes and Angela stood up and she pulled Tim off Lucy and wrapped her arms around Lucy. Thank you thank you she said over and over tears streaming. Hey what's family for Lucy said tears in her eyes. Tim held Lucy again. 20 minutes had passed and the group were laughing. No one noticed how pale and quiet Lucy had got. Bailey came over and did some vitals on people.
Jack was fine ange had calmed. Lucy was so quiet it was like she was invisible. The come down she thought. Bailey put the blood pressure cuff on Lucy. Tim looked her way and smiled turning back to their friends. They all spoke freely.
Woah said Bailey. What said Tim worried what he repeated.
Luce you're blood pressure is really low. Gray asked could it be a reaction from the adrenaline? Yeah replied Bailey but not this low. Let me check your blood sugars. She pricked her finger. Bailey she's really pale said nyla.
Luce did you get hurt ? Asked Angela moving her hand over her looking for an injury. Lucy appeared with it but it took her 30 seconds to reply. I I d-don't think so she said.
Ok her sugars are really low. Tim has she eaten today. Tim thought back to this morning. Umm

Bradford nyla said has she eaten. Angela sat behind Lucy to support her. Angela moved Lucy's head to rest against her chest she stroked her hair. Yes yes she had a banana and toast. When said Bailey um 5:30am. Everyone checked their watches they hadn't realised how long they had been there it was 5:45pm. They decided to take Lucy to hospital to get checked out. Tim told her and tears welled in her eyes. Wes took Jack home with gray. Left were nyla and Angela. Come on hun let's just get you checked out. Angela said. You worried about my baby let me worry about yours she said placing her hand on Lucy's bump. Her breathings funny Tim Angela said. Tim leaned her forward. She's still wearing her protective kit. They removed the vest and protective clothing and Lucy took a massive breath in.
On the way there it Tim reached for her hand I can't feel it she said. Angela and Tim looked at each other. What babe Tim said stoking her hand. What can't you feel Angela asked.
A tear rolled down her face she placed her free hand on her stomach. Tim's heart dropped. He placed his hands on her belly. Angela asked when was the last time you felt baby move hun? Tim looked in her eyes he moved his hands round her belly pushing gently to see if he could get his child to move.
Lucy Angela said again. Lucy looked at her. Um right before I found jack. They arrived and the first thing a doctor went to do an ultrasound. Tim lifted her uniform top and the doctor put the gel on. I'm sorry she whispered and her eyes couldn't look at Tim. He focused entirely on the screen the wand moved around for what appeared to be an eternity. Lucy was openly sobbing now Tim held her hand and her head kissing it. He was so panicked. Would she survive this would they survive this would...
**Thump thump** thump thump**
Lucy shot her eyes over. Tim placed his head on her shoulder. The doctor said baby has moved to a funny position that's why you couldn't feel the movements. But that's one strong heart beat.
Lucy and Tim hugged both equally needing comfort. Needing each other. She was discharged under the agreement she would eat and drink before going to bed.
Tim got her favourite food and cravings. Lucy smiled and happily ate and drank with Tim. They both had the next day off. Tim looked at the clock 00:54 come on sweetheart he guided her to bed. She stood in front of their mirror and looked at her bump Tim came up behind her and hugged her pulling her in to his frame he felt her bump pressing into him.
They both gasped. Ahah did you feel that Lucy asked. Yes Tim replied as a tear spilled over his eye. Our baby kicked.
They lay down Lucy settled down Tim's arm draped over her. She intertwined their fingers and placed his hand over her belly. Tim chuckled as he felt another kick. I guess baby has moved he said. Lucy giggled. Looks like we've got a footballer on our hands she said. They shut their eyes grateful for each other.
