The return

Leaving the hospital Lucy and Tim began their journey into parenthood. They enjoyed the month together Lucy slotted into the role so naturally Tim found it harder. He was so concerned that he would become his father he began shutting down.
This was their last day together before Tim goes back to work. Angela came over. Tim was watching the game Liv was in her crib and Lucy was nattering with Angela in the garden.
Can you believe a month ago you delivered her Luce began Angela shook her head crazy. Hows life. Truth be told Angela hadn't seen much of the household they had a month to themselves. Um we are getting there she said. Meaning ange said I think Tim's finding it hard something is on his mind but he wouldn't tell me Lucy looked at the monitor she saw Livy stirring. Tim she said can you grab her. Tim got up and walked into livs room. Picking up his daughter he looked down. She was gorgeous. He walked out and joined the girls in the garden. Gimme said ange taking the baby from Tim he smiled kissing Lucy. Do you want a drink. No I'm fine thanks babe she said. Gosh Luce she's all you isn't she. The hair the eyes the skin. Lucy laughed I see lots of Tim's expressions though. Liv stayed content for about half an hour then started to fuss. Ange passed her to Luce who fed her and burped her. See that's her dad right there. Tim laughed extending the middle finger. What babe she belches like you. Laughing Tim came and picked her up kissing her he sat with them outside. I'm going to the loo one sec. Lucy left.
Ange looked at Tim. You good she said. Tim nodded Tim come on what's going on. He sighed. I'm so scared ange. At that moment Lucy came back she trailed her hands across his shoulders.
I have to pick up Jack ange said standing she hugged Lucy and Tim breathed in livys scent and left. I'm tired Tim said do you mind if I nap. Looking at Liv in his arms she's out and fed. Can I join you Lucy said. Tim smiled and they lay down on their bed Lucy wrapped her arms around Tim. Babe. Hm Tim looked at her please please let me in. Tim went quiet and sighed just then Livy cried. Lucy went to get her please Tim she said going into their daughter's room. I'm just going to do something Tim said. When she came out cradling her daughter Tim was gone.
Lucy carried on with the day and as night drew in Tim wasn't home. She put Liv to bed and called Angela.
A- hey babe you ok
L- is Tim at yours
A- no not seen him since yours why
L- he left just after you and isn't home yet he said he had to do something any ideas
A- my minds blank hun I'll keep you posted
L- thanks night love you.

Days turned into weeks and Lucy had reported him missing but when a police officer wants to be missing and not found they know how to do it.
Lucy's heart broke, it had happened Tim had left her. She held her daughter so close every time she held her. Her constant worry that Tim was in trouble filled her space.
She text him and called him. The texts deliver and are read but calls never answers.
Weeks turned into months.
Liv was turning in 11 months old and Lucy woke her up in the morning hey baby girl she said showering her with kisses. She got her dressed, livs dark curls and doe eyes resembled Lucy but her expressions were all Tim. She clapped at food and Lucy buckled her in to her high chair and offered a selection of pancakes and fruit. The little girl happily munched away. The doorbell went and ange walked in. Hey baby she said auntie lulu jack shouted pancakes. They all sat down for breakfast Lucy gave them all a kiss.Lucy's phone rang. An unknown number. Ange can you get that I'm just going to try and feed this feral child she said spooning fruit into livys mouth.

Hello she said
Luce is that you a voice said
No this isn't her this is her friend Angela.
The voice paused. He heard it in the background.

Mmmm is that yummy baby girl and kissing sounds and a small child giggling.

His heart ached that was Lucy. It took all of his courage.
