Room 042

Tim and Lucy had settled into a new routine. Liv was getting to know him. Tim had started back at work and bought an apartment. They were civil but only spoke about Liv. Tim took what he could get.
Lucy walked in the station with Liv on her hip the child was quiet and had her head resting on her mother. Tim walked up and rubbed livs back how is she he asked. Quiet I think she's coming down with something Lucy said walking to day care she informed the staff that she was in the building all day and so was Tim so to call either one of them if she got worse.

Morning break came around tim went over have you heard anything he asked Lucy shook her head must've perked up she said with a smile. Angela walked over to Lucy hi Tim she said. Tim smiled you all set for tonight Luce Angela asked. I don't know if im going to go she Said i need to see how Liv is.
She walked away to get a coffee. What's tonight Tim asked Angela. Oh um Lucy has a date. What tim spluttered he felt like someone had stabbed his heart.
Tim you two aren't together you left. She's not moved on nearly a year. Bu-but Tim started no buts Tim she's allowed to do this. His heart was heavy for the rest of the shift. He was having Liv tonight that was the only good thing about today.
He had been desperately trying to get Lucy alone but she was so busy and she had made it clear she's healing. He said bye to Liv as they left the station. She's still warm Lucy said and been quiet all day. A hint of worry in her voice.
An hour before he was supposed to collect her Tim's phone rang. It was Lucy straight away he picked it up and answered
T- hey Lu-
L- Tim
Her voice was panicked he sat up and listened carefully
L- ti-Tim it's Liv she's um she's had a seizure we are on our way to the hospital
T- on my way.

Tim rang Angela to inform her as he was speaking to her he heard her driving. I'll see you there she said. Tim rushed into the waiting room and ran to the front desk

Tim said a voice. He turned around there was Lucy tears running down her face Tim ran to her and then without thinking wrapped his arms around her. His embrace was tight and safe Lucy sobbed her arms covering her face. Hey it's okay he said she's tough our girl. Just then Angela arrived seeing Lucy wrapped in Tim's arms brought her back to their lives before. Hey she said touching both of them on their shoulders Lucy didn't break away from Tim's embrace. Just then a doctor came and spoke to them. Lucy shot out of Tim's embrace but looked back to see his worried expression. She took his hand.
D-Okay so your daughter had a febrile convulsion. It happened because her temperature was too high. They are quite common with young children. Lucy's eyes wide taking in everything to doctor said. So she's okay Tim asked the doctor nodded we added a slight sedation to help her recover so she's sleeping at the minute but you can go and see her. Which room Tim said. The doctor replied room 042.
Tim started moving but Lucy stood still her hand still in his.
What's wrong Lucy asked Tim Angela placed her hands on her shoulder. It's different this time she said to Lucy who was trying not to cry she's okay it's just a room babe Angela continued. Tim's eyes wide trying to understand the situation. But she needs her mummy Angela said cupping Lucy's face. She nodded and they walked over. Tim and Lucy both rushed to livs side. Noticing he was struggling Lucy put her hand on his arm. He smiled and covered it with his hand. After a while Lucy was sat she looked at her watch 22:20 they had been here for 6 hours she went looking for a doctor to discharge them.
What was the deal with the room Tim asked looking at Angela.
Don't you remember Tim she said.
He shrugged looking at her blankly
Remember when Lucy was pregnant and you got shot this was your room Lucy fell apart in this room. Then she paused looking a Livy. When Livy was 4 month old she um had a really significant accident. Lucy and her got in a car crash drunk driver Tim reached out and held his daughter's hand. The other driver died and Lucy um blamed herself for such a long time. The hospital was seriously over run so they put both of them together in this room. When Lucy woke up she was confused she kept asking nyla and myself to call you. She couldn't understand why you weren't coming. After about a week she remembered and all she did was hold Liv. She needed that little girl so much she's getting back to her normal self then you showed up. I ruined it Tim said. No Angela replied softly she loves you always has always will I mean you've got this gorgeous cherub here to prove it. Lucy had been in the hallway and heard everything she chose not to address it she was relieved Tim knew and she didn't have to tell him.
Lucy walked in we can go in an hour she said. Ange go home you're on the morning shift. Ange nodded and hugged both of them. Look after my sweet girl for me she said. Tim smiled but Lucy choked back tears and hugged her again.
