She felt her heart quicken but knew she had to be there for her best friend.
Angela hung up and within 10 minutes Lucy saw her car pull up. She opened the door so the doorbell wouldn't wake Tim she pulled Angela into an embrace go to him she said taking Jack and his bag she kissed Angela then watched her disappear.
Jack looked at Lucy she walked over to the kitchen with him and puts him down quickly he's 11 months old and recognises Lucy smiling at her. He stretched out his arms and bum shuffled close to her up. Up up he said. Lucy looked at him when she didn't immediately pick him up his bottom lip started quivering
Oh hey it's ok said Lucy reaching out her arms. She picked Jack up an ache in her heart was obvious. He nestled his head into her and she placed a hand on his head. His lip still quivering mamma he said pointing to the door.
Mammas going to be back jack you get to spend some time with auntie Lucy and uncle Tim Jack cuddled her not letting go. He eventually fell asleep and Tim woke up Luce he said looking round. His eyes widen when he sees Jack clinging to her Lucy eyes begin to water. It's Wes she began Tim got up and walked over what happened he said. He's overdosed and they are so worried ange is with him now I said we would take Jack. Tim pulled her in for a hug. Are you okay he said looking at her cradling his friends boy. Yeah I think so she went to put Jack down on the sofa shushing as she did so, Jack didn't wake. Tim looked in awe at her he was so in love with her she was so maternal.
I love you Lucy he said Lucy shot up her eyes wide this was the first time he said that. He walked over and kissed her. This kiss was something else it made Lucy weak at her knees.
I'm going to call Angela see how's she's doing Tim said he went outside for some privacy

All of a sudden Angela realised what she had done leaving her son with the woman who was trying to understand her trauma around children and babies

The call ended and Tim Lucy and Jack spent the day together. Come night time Angela was on her way back when she rang them could you bring him to me I'm stuck at the hospital
Lucy carried Jack and placed him in his car seat.
Tim admired how tentative she was. We are going to see mamma gorgeous boy. Jack smiled
Tim drove and when they arrived Jack was asleep I'll get him Lucy said.
Lucy scooped up the sleeping infant like she had been doing it for years. Jack instinctively wrapped his arms around her and nestled in. They walked through the hospital when Tim saw Angela. Wait here Luce let me just make sure she's good.
Luce stayed gently swaying a sleeping Jack.
Hey Tim said wrapping Angela in a hug.
The pair stood engaged in a hug. Thank you so much Angela said. Tim replied I think it's done Lucy a world of good look he said pointing to her Angela looked at Lucy cradling her son so naturally Angela walked forward hugged Lucy and sat down with her. Hey I'm so sorry for placing this on you she said. Lucy shook her head. Today was a good day she said smiling. Angela stroked her sons head oh here take him Lucy said. He looks so comfy with you Lucy you could do it you know Lucy smiled and handed Jack to his mum. He stirred slightly and Lucy stroked his hair. Angela looked and Tim and smiled. She's a natural she said. Tim smiled. They all went into see Wes. Nyla was there too. After an hour Lucy leaned against Tim and he wrapped an arm around her. Can we go she said in a small voice. Tim placed his hand on her waist right guys we are off. After exchanging hugs and Thanks the two walked out. As the cool breeze. Hit them Lucy stopped Tim pulled her in. I love you too she said. They drove home.
