Arabella's PoV - (mama)

My baby stopped breathing.

The glass and plates shattered around her as her eyes closed and she collapsed onto the floor, lips a scary blue, skin a pale colour, chest still.

Blood seeping from the back of her head because of the impact of the fall.

My baby stopped breathing. Her heart stopped. She died whilst cutting a cake for her niece's birthday.

The family gathered around so quickly and my sister in law Athena rushed into action. She's a doctor and a very talented one. After doing CPR and mouth to mouth for 7 minutes and 23 seconds Rory's heartbeat came back.

We rushed her to hospital and she was immediately sent into surgery. Crying my eyes out in my husbands arms I'm hyper aware of my surroundings, I may have become an emotional mess after birthing all my babies and them messing with my hormones but I am still an ex assassin, it's part of my nature.

I watch as my oldest sons sit next to each other and stare at the wall in front of them, max' face stone cold, Elijah with a similar face, the twins both trying to have a brave face but I can see the fear in their eyes.

The triplets and Arlo are all huddled together crying and shaking while they whisper to one another, Asher clearly not interested in talking so instead he listens.

Dante and Emilio haven't sat down since we got here while they both consistently walk up and down no doubt making themselves and everyone else all the more anxious.

My parents and ale's parents are all teary eyes and trying to get Dante and Emilio to sit down and relax whilst all our siblings and there children are spread across the waiting room all with longing looks of pain and despair drawn all over their faces.

I called all of Aurora's friends when we got to the hospital, they deserved to know what was happening with their best friend. They rushed into the waiting room about an hour ago begging for answers none of us had.

Blade and Maria came shortly after with their parents, the siblings comforting their friends in the room whilst their parents tried and failed to comfort me and Alejandro.

We have all been tirelessly waiting here now for 7 hours. No word from any doctors or nurses and I'm starting to get irritated. My baby is under the knife and I have no clue what's going on.

Deciding I had enough of crying and wanted to know what was going on I abruptly stood up and headed straight for the door of the room they wheeled my baby into. Ignoring the questions from everyone else in the room I open the door a bit harsher then intended and stepped out looking for a doctor, as soon as I turn my head I'm greeted with a solemn looking nurse and an agrieved looking male doctor.

"Mrs Costello?" The older man asks me with his eyebrows pinched

"What's wrong with my baby?" I say with a pinched tone

"Ma'am I think it's best we say this in front of the family and where you can sit" the nurse says with pity and reaches to touch my shoulder, I recoil back faster than intended and marched back into the room face of thunder I sat next to my husband and clasped onto his hand tightly.

"Aurora's okay for now" the doctor begins and I feel my self release the breath I've been holding since I saw them.

"But she wasn't. Aurora suffered from a severe heart attack earlier on, if CPR wasn't performed as quick as it was, you daughter wouldn't have made it, she coded 11 times in surgery" he pauses and I take a glance at my sister in law Athena and nod with so much gratitude. Turning back to the doctor I look at him expectantly.

"Aurora's heart attack was caused by a heart disease she's had since she was born but for some reason it had gone unrecognised. More specifically it is called congenital heart disease. I'd like you to remember this isn't anyone's fault and in this case it's not hereditary so none of you should be worrying about also having the disease.  There are five different types of this disease, Aurora has pulmonary valve stenosis this is where the pulmonary valve which controls the flow of blood out of the lower right chamber of the heart to the lungs is narrower than normal. The first stage of treatment we'd like to try with Aurora is Balloon valvuloplasty." He pauses

"Balloon what?" Maximillo grunts

"It's where we would insert a flexible tube with a balloon on the tip into an artery, most commonly on the groin. X-rays will help to guide the tube which is called a catheter, to the narrowed valve in the heart. The balloon will inflate and hopefully make the valve open larger. The balloon will then be deflated and then the balloon and the catheter will be removed. The procedure should help improve the flow through the heart and reduce pulmonary valve stenosis symptoms but the valve may narrow again over time." The lady nurse explains really well.

"What happens if the valve narrows again?" Ale's brother Lorenzo asks

"We'd have to perform pulmanory valve replacement" the doctor says hesitantly

"Open heart surgery?" Athena whisper shouts and gasps are audible throughout the room.

"No" me and ale stand up and nearly shout simultaneously

"We may not have an option, left untreated Aurora could face another heart attack, one her heart won't be able to handle one that most definitely will be fatal." The doctor is treading on thin ice.

"But unfortunately that is not all, Aurora hit her head pretty hard on the floor when she had her heart attack, she had a bleed on her brain which we where able to sort during surgery but we've had to put her into a medically induced coma for now, to help the swelling on her brain calm down. She also has a few open wounds on her chest and back and she has some abnormal bruising around her wrists and lower belly around her ovaries. With your consent of course we'd like to run a few tests including a rape kit" the doctor rants

It's now my time to gasp.

Rape kit?

My poor baby hasn't suffered enough???

"No no no no no no no" I hear Asher mutter under his breath as he begins to rock back and fourth in his chair, head in his hands.

He's talking. Not for the right reasons.

I hear a loud bang and turn my eyes to see blade punching the wall beside him whilst his dad and Maria try to calm him, everyone else in the room is crying.

Before any of us can say anything a loud alarm is coming from Aurora's room before the doctor and nurse in front of us look at one another alarmed and then rush off to her room.

Please be okay babygirl.
Please.
