"Will you be fine?"
Roseanne nodded, looking her sister in the eyes. Her arms were wrapped around her and Sooyoung found it hard to let go, frowning and pouting.
"You're not a baby anymore," Laughed the blonde woman, squeezing her younger sister's cheeks. The little boy, Ren, was strapped on her chest, reaching up to his aunty who had been by his side the past few months.
"See? Even Ren doesn't want you to go." Sooyoung used her little boy's hand and reached it up to her sister's face, letting her kiss his chubby hands before ruffling his thick, brown hair.
"It's one week. I haven't been home in three years, it'll be good to get out." Roseanne held the little boy's hands, letting him suck her fingers and drool all over her.
Roseanne could see the worry in her sister's eyes and couldn't help the fact that her lips curled downwards. Sooyoung was younger, Sooyoung was supposed to live with no worries and Roseanne hated herself for being such a burden.
To a lot of people, really.
"Suzy is picking you up after you land?" Sooyoung asked, making sure Roseanne had everything like her passport, boarding pass and even her suitcase.
"Yes. I'll be staying at our— her house." Roseanne corrected herself, looking around awkwardly. The glint of worry in Sooyoung's eyes didn't go unnoticed. "Sooyoung, I'll be fine, I promise."
"You'll ring me every day, right?" She continued to ask, both girls quietening down when Roseanne's flight was called. The blonde gave her sister an expression of apology, kissing her and her baby on the cheek.
"All the time."
"Okay," Sooyoung sighed. One more hug is what she said. "Stay safe."
Roseanne laughed.
After sending a photo of herself, exhausted and dishevelled to her younger sister, Roseanne started to make her way out of the airport.
She had her purse in one hand and her suitcase in the other, pulling the handle as she slowly walked around, already wanting to fall asleep for the night.
It was good to be home.
This is the place she grew up in, the place she fell in love with and the place she had to leave behind for a passion that grew deeper. Roseanne could recognise the place and it instantly brought back memories that filled her heart with the warmth she had been recently lacking.
"Hey, gorgeous."
Roseanne was pulled out of her thoughts, not feeling the night's cool breeze pull her jumper off of her shoulders. She instantly smiled upon seeing the woman, lunging at her in a great hug.
"Hey, Suzy!" She exclaimed, pulling out of the hug only to wrap the woman in another one. "It's so good to be home right now. I missed you."
Suzy followed in a fit of giggles when Roseanne rocked them in their hug, the two women excited to be reunited with each other after a long time— well, it had only been a few months since Suzy visited Roseanne last.
"Here, give me your bags." Suzy, like the gentlewoman she was, took Roseanne's suitcase and threw it into the back seat of her car.
Roseanne walked to the other side of her car and got into the passenger seat. Whilst Suzy was busy making space in the back for Roseanne's unusually large suitcase, the blonde pulled down the mirror to sort herself out.
It was when something caught her eye in the backseat and Roseanne felt her heart drop. Purely with guilt— guilt that she hadn't thought about the son she had for a while because of... to put it simply, Jisoo.
