It felt like hours but it must have been minutes when the strong wind dispersed and Eric fell limply beneath Gabriela and Sookie. His eyes were closed and his chest heaved up in down in heavy breaths.

Gabriela's eyes stopped glowing and she looked back at Sookie who let out a breath in relief that it was over.

Gabriela looked down at Eric and she wanted to rip the chains from his skin but it was still sunny, and she had no idea when the spell would activate once more.

"Eric?" she murmured, holding his cheeks between her palms "Are you okay? Look at me."

The viking opened one eye with great difficulty as he watched her "Is it over?"

"I don't know." she leaned forward, capturing his lips against her own for a fleeting moment "I truly hope so, but I don't know."

Gabriela was about to rip the chain from his skin the moment the sun had disappeared behind the horizon. The Nephilim told Sookie to go and rest while she will finish taking care of Eric.

Seeing the viking as he writhed beneath them in pain was torture and his skin wasn't healing as quickly as it should have been. The chain around his neck remained as she tried to lift if off carefully.

"Just yank it off, it's better that way." said Eric, eyes closed as he turned his head to the side to keep the silver from touching his chin.

"Oh," muttered Gabriela with a grimace as she rested sat beside him on her knees, mattress dipping below her. The skin on his ankles, wrists and stomach were raw, burned almost to the bone. "well, won't I pull some of you off with it when I do that?"

"Yeah," he tried to offer her a smile "but that's okay. It doesn't hurt as much as the silver and it heals faster."

Gabriela left no time to mull it over and yanked at the silver chain, tearing it away from his skin and steam wafted from his throat.

His eyes opened wide and he swore loudly, his mother tongue rolling from his mouth in absolute anger.

"Thank - thank you." he croaked, letting her know the anger wasn't directed at her. The sheets beneath him were soaked with his blood from the hours he spent trapped beneath the silver.
