Chapter 56: Somebody That I Used to Know

It was the middle of the night and Gabriela was having a rest after her furious break down, when she suddenly felt a cold, soft hand being placed on her cheek. She stir up a bit and slowly opened her eyes.

"Eric?" She mumbled, but when she saw who was in front of her she quickly sit up and her eyes opened wide "Godric?"

The said vampire was sitting next to Gabriela, smiling softly at the Nephilim, and his eyes were filled with love and adoration for the girl in front of him.

"Hello Gabriela." He softly greeted her.

Gabriela carefully lifted her hand and started moving it towards his own. He met her midway and as their hands touched she smiled wildly and hugged him tightly.

Godric wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her closer to himself as he buried his head into her neck, breathing in her scent.

"I've missed you so much." She mumbled.

Godric pulled away and looked into her eyes "I've missed you too, Gabi."

She tilted her head slightly as she looked at him in confusion "How are you here?"

His eyes filled with sadness at that question "You and Eric, completed the mate bonding. You became one and that blood that he took... it's dangerous Gabi. I talked with him, I told him that what he was doing was wrong, and he knows that. But Nora doesn't."

Gabriela shook her head "She is so brainwashed by that bitch Salome... my brother told me about Nora. And he told me only beautiful things about her, but now that I see who she is... that is not the girl my brother fall in love with."

"No. She is not." Godric shook his head "You and Eric need to help her, Gabi. Help her understand that this is wrong. Lilith is a godless god. She will bring disaster to this world and you must not drink from her blood Gabi!"

Gabriela looked at him in confusion "Why? It's not like I'm going to go around and start killing people. You know that I only kill when is necessary."

"Gabi, you are half- angel. That blood is dangerous, who knows what it will do to you." Godric softly told her, and he placed his hand on her cheek.

Gabriela placed her own hand on top of his and looked into his blue eyes "Why didn't you told me?" His eyes filled with sadness and regret "Why didn't you told me and my brother the truth, Godric?"

He sighed sadly and let go of her cheek, as he placed both of his hands on the bed, each of her sides, caging her and looked into her eyes.

"Because Gabi I knew that, if I let you both remember that night. Both you and Angelo would run right into him, unprepared. And both of you would have died." He explained to her. "And I made a promise, that I would protect you both with my life... and I broke my promise when Angelo died." Gabriela looked down sadly at the thought of her brother "I knew I should have told you, I was just afraid."
