Fifteen Years Earlier...
The chapter begins in Cartagena Columbia, in South America. A young Oscar walks casually through a street, wearing a white shirt with red sleeves, blue jeans, a small brown satchel bag. He stops at a corner and looks across the street at the entrance of a museum where a sign written in Spanish says the museum contains an exhibit of artifacts that belonged to Sir Francis Drake.
"Oscar... it's you." Ruby points out.
"But younger." Jaune added.
"What am I doing there?" The farmer boy asked, confused and curious.
"In this chapter, this is where you found your silver ring. And meet Ozpin." Theo answered.
"Really. That sounds interesting." Pyrrha says, intrigued.
Oscar goes across the street and enters the museum. "Alright... Here we go..." He whisper with confidence as he walks past the front desk and enters a large room with display cases all around. He starts looking in each of the cases and finds many old artifacts from Drake's time in them. But none of them are what he came to find.
After checking all the cases in the room, he goes to the back where a staircase is. "Maybe upstairs. It's gotta be in one of these cases." He looks in the case and sees an old silver ring with Latin inscriptions on a small pedestal. "Wait... here it is."
"He found it." Nora says, smiling.
"But where's Ozpin." Ren asked, curious.
Oscar sees a lock with a keyhole on the side of the case and realizes the case is locked. "Crap." He sighs.
"You shouldn't be surprised." Roman says. "Everything in a museum isn't free. Except for me of course."
Oscar then sees another artifact next to the ring. It's a circular bronze device-like object that looks about six inches wide. It has symbols around the edge and a circular hole in the middle. He notices the hole is about the same size as the ring. He looks behind the artifacts and sees an old piece of paper with some of the same symbols that are on the device. He opens his journal and sketches a drawing of the device and copies down the symbols on the paper.
Just then, Oscar catches something out of the corner of his eye and notices a middle-aged Ozpin wearing a dark-green button-down shirt, tan pants and glasses.
"And there he is." Nora points to the younger version of Ozpin.
"Is this where they team up?" Velvet asked. "Do they both work together to get the ring?"
"Err, not quite." Lucy denied. "Their teamwork doesn't start until the next chapter."
Ozpin walks through the room casually observing the display cases. To Oscar, he seems to be acting too casually. The young boy moves over to another case as the man walks over in his direction. He carefully watches as Ozpin approaches the case with the ring and device. With his back turned to the case, he sneakily takes a key out and inserts in into the lock. He tries to turn it but can't as it doesn't have the right tumblers to unlock it. He takes the key out, slips it back into his pocket and walks away.
Oscar sees the whole thing and realizes the man intends to steal the ring just like he was and could get the key to do it. He starts to follow him but is suddenly grabbed from behind by a museum guard.
"Aha! I got you, you little street mouse! Thought you could sneak in here without me knowing?" The guard aggressively drags Oscar out of the room as Ozpin leaves, walking out the entrance on the other side.
