The chapter starts off with Oscar, Ruby and Ozpin looking down into the opening and seeing some sandy ground a few dozen feet below.

"Okay, guys... Secret entrance to what? What's down there?" Ruby questions.

"Only one way to find out." Oscar replies.

"Another non-answer."

Ozpin snickered. "You expected something different?"

"Yeah, you can't expect a straight answer from these two." Roman chuckled.

Oscar takes the lead, swinging over the rim and climbs down a ladder on the side of the hole. He drops down on the floor. "Alright, we're good. Come on down." He calls out to the others, who follow him down. They enter the room the opening leads to. It's a wide room with nothing but several large rectangular pillars around the floor and along the walls.

"What is this?? An underground pillar room??" Jaune questions, confused.

"It's just a cistern, kid. You sure this is the right place?" Ozpin asks.

"Yeah... it's gotta be. Let's look around." Oscar replies as they start searching the place for any clues.

"He's seems unsure." Summer says, concerned.

"Umm, how exactly are they gonna get back up??" Tai questions. "Unless, there's a secret exit, they're no way out but up."

Qrow sighs, exasperated. "This kid needs to think before he acts."

"So what was Sir Francis doing all the way out here, anyway?" Ruby asks.

"He was on a secret expedition for Queen Elizabeth." Oscar informs her.

"Yeah, to find the lost city of Ubar." Ozpin adds.

"Yeah, the Atlantis of the Sands."

"Under this city?" Ruby asks and Oscar shakes his head.

"No, it's in the middle of the Rub' al Khali desert." He corrects.

"This place just tells you how to find it. Supposedly." Ozpin muttered.

"Supposedly." Glynda repeated. "Meaning, there are doubts in this case."

"But with Oscar, you can never know." Ozpin says, faithfully.

Oscar finds a hole on each side of each pillar that looks big enough to fit a hand. He reaches his hand in one of the holes and feels something inside.

"At least check before hitting your hands into random things." Neo suggest.

"Some kind of lever in here." Oscar pulls the lever and nothing happens. "Huh, doesn't seem to do anything." He goes to another hole and reaches in. Ruby sees this and tries to stop him.

"Hey, don't just stick your han-"

Oscar yelps in pain and quickly pulls his hand back out, spiders coming out of the walls.

"Too late."

"Serves him right." Ruby scold. "You're lucky you didn't lose that hand.

Oscar stops reaching inside random holes and thinks for a minute. He then realizes something. "You know, this place looks familiar. Wait a minute... this is what Francis Drake sketched on the back of the map."

He takes the map out and turns it over. The back side has a big drawing of three pillars similar to the ones in the room. Several different symbols are drawn below them. "Yeah, these are the same pillars. Drake must've made these notes when he was down here."
