At nighttime, the chapter starts in Syria, Oscar and Ozpin approaching the old crusaders citadel. As they walk up the path to the front door, Oscar tries calling Blake and Cardin on his phone, but no one picks up.

"Damn it." He cursed in concern, pocketing his phone. "Still can't reach either one of them. Something is definitely not right."

"How long 'til this place opens?" Ozpin asks.

"We've got a few more hours before the tour buses start showing up." Oscar replies, checking his watch.

"Then we better hustle." Ozpin says, the duo making their way up towards the entrance.

"Better hurry before it's too late." Ruby urged in concern.

When they make it to the door, they find a broken chain on the door handles. "Chain's been cut." Ozpin points out, holding the broken chain.

"Okay, so we know we're not the first ones here." Oscar says.

"That was pretty obvious from the start." Emerald sassed.

"Remember, as long as Salem and Cinder think we're dead, we've got the element of surprise." Ozpin pushes open the door and they walk in. "Let's not waste it." He closes the door behind them and they start walking inside.

"Right. So we sneak in, find out where they're holding Blake and Cardin-" Oscar explains the plan.

"If they're holding them." Ozpin corrects.

"Glass half full, Oz?"

"I'm just saying, these guys don't seem like the hostage talking type."

"Then at least pray they're okay for the moment." Kali says.

"Let's just go with best-case scenario for now, okay?" Oscar sighs.

"That would be if they haven't been found yet." Mercury says.

"We rescue Blake and Cardin, and the four of use just sneak back out." Oscar explains.

"That's easier said than." Vernal states. "And I doubt sneaking back out will be optional."

"Yeah, right. Sneak back out." Ozpin scoffs.

"It could happen." Oscar said.

"Mm-hm."

The duo exit the passage and walk across a walkway. They get to a large wooden door. Oscar starts climbing up the stone wall next to it. "I'll climb up and around. I'll let you in if it's safe."

He climbs through a small open window above the door and enters a large room with stone platforms above the ground. He drops on a high platform and looks down. A few agents occupy the lower level. He ducks down behind a stone wall.

"Ah shit, already?" He sighs. "Just what I needed."

He stealthily drops down on top of an agent below him and knocks him out. Then he quietly jumps between platforms and takes out the others. He drops down to the floor and shoots the rest. He unlocks the door and opens it for Ozpin.

"Come on. It's clear."

They cross the room and open the next door. They get to a wide open area with staircases and walkways leading to different parts of the citadel. Oscar heads down a passage with Ozpin following closely behind. They find a well with a bucket attached to a hoist.

"Lower me down." Oscar instructs, jumping to the bucket.

"What are you gonna do? Wish yourself into a pile of gold coins?" Mercury snickered.
