The chapter begins with Oscar and Ozpin entering the gate and stepping onto a walkway that overlooks Iram of the Pillars, a massive city of beautiful ancient buildings made of sparkling brass metal. It all looks very wealthy and luxurious. They are understandably amazed by the sight. They go down a stairway from the walkway to a pavilion where a big fountain is producing actual clear water.
"Incredible..." Ozpin said.
"Incredible?" Yang chuckled. "I can think of a few new words than that."
"This place is outstanding." Ruby says in awe.
Oscar nodded in agreement. "So worth the wait."
"This is how the city could thrive all the way out here." Oscar says he scoops some water with his hands and drinks it. "It's clean. It's amazing it's still running after all these years."
"The whole place must be fed by an underground spring." Ozpin assumes.
Oscar begins to drink some water while Ozpin splashes some over his head. Suddenly, the yellow life, emitting from the sun, turns red.
"Huh?? Why is the sky getting darker??" Neo asks in confusion.
Oscar and Ozpin walk away from the fountain over to the edge of the pavilion and see a solar eclipse up in the sky.
"What the... ?? An eclipse??" Roman questions, puzzled. "Why all the sudden??"
Adam narrowed his eyes in thought. "Something isn't right."
"Now that's a hell of a thing..." Ozpin said, facing Oscar.
Sienna raised an eyebrow in confusion. "He's not gonna question black sun that appeared out for now where??"
"I don't know." Yuma shrugs. "But you gotta admit, it's pretty cool."
Suddenly, a gunshot is heard.
Most of the audience jumped at the sound.
"What was that?!"
"Where did that come from?!"
"Who's shooting?!?"
Oscar's eyes widened in shock. Ozpin's looks down and sees a red stain appears on his chest and grows rapidly.
Salem gasps in horror. She covers her mouth as tears formed in her eyes. "Ozma..."
"OZ!!!" Qrow yelled out in shout.
"Ozpin!!" Most of the students cried out in shock and horror.
"Wh- What happened??!" Glynda exclaimed, confused and horrified.
"What-?" Ozpin mutters, softly.
"No..." Oscar shook his head in denial.
Ozpin starts to stumbles down. Oscar quickly grabs. He sees Cinder and Salem on a nearby ledge, staring at them with Cinder holding a sniper rifle.
"Cinder!!" Ruby hissed in anger.
"That bitch!!" Yang growled in frustration.
"How could she do this?!" Jaune questions in disbelief.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Nora demanded.
Salem could only look away in grief and sadness. While Cinder had an evil grin on her face.
Oscar glares at Salem ad Cinder, before he gently puts Ozpin towards the ground. "No... please." He pleaded as he looks over his mentor and friend. "Oz..."
