MY FRIENDS were worried because I was always moody. I told them I was just worried about the final exams. I didn't want them to know about my move to Florida.
The fact that Jason was still avoiding me also made things worse. He always ate alone at the table. When I approached him, he would run away.
Amber, I, and some other female friends watched a basketball game on the court. Jason sat alone in the almost empty stands. In the middle of the game, the players asked for a drink and to my surprise, Will approached me.
"Hi, Sweetie?" he said.
Amber and Cavin screamed hysterically, while Lily had already passed out.
"Hi," I answered calmly.
"Pray for us!" Will said with a smile.
"Okay," I replied.
Will winked at me and then took off jumping backward like a graceful gazelle.
Amber was the first to nudge my arm. "Uhhh, Will, Nad! It's Will! He's flirting with you!"
I couldn't help the blush that spread across my face. I looked up, Jason was watching us. The smile on my lips disappeared instantly because his face was sullen and he immediately left.
I couldn't believe it. My suspicions were getting crazier. My moving problem had already frustrated me. Added to that, Jason's attitude was driving me nuts.
I had to stop him quickly. I put on my parka and carried my thick book with one hand. My rubber shoes squeaked on the slippery floor because I was running after Jason.
"Hey! Are you jealous of me?" I asked when I managed to block him. He couldn't run anymore like a child, so he lowered his face. "Look at me, Jason!"
Finally Jason lifted his face. "You said I don't have to stick to you all the time!"
I gasped. My tongue was numb, but I still didn't want to lose. "Okay, sorry then. I was just kidding."
He smiled bitterly and ran away again.
