Why would Aunt May kill me?
Why would an old woman kill the child she had been taking care of? It didn't make sense.
"What's going on? Why was Aunt May arrested?" Jason asked anxiously to one of the remaining police officers.
"She was arrested because she was proven to have killed Nadya. She will be questioned further at the police station."
"Proven?" Jason frowned.
"Yes, but we can't tell you more. We can only tell her close family."
"I'm her family. I'm Nadya's closest friend."
The police remained silent, clearly doubting Jason.
"Ah! I'll tell Uncle Carlos!"
Jason sped off like lightning to the hospital on his skateboard, I riding behind him.
Arriving at the hospital, Jason had difficulty finding Dad. However, I knew exactly where Dad was now. Where else? Of course in the operating room.
There was a chance that the operating room door opened because a nurse came in, I followed her. The white curtains next to the patient's operating table almost threw me off.
Okay, don't get hit by anything. Objects, humans, or whatever... you could get electrocuted. I moved carefully toward some nurses, two doctors who were treating a patient. It seemed pretty bad. I didn't know what the problem was or what these doctors were doing.
They were doing a series of things that I had learned during my Red Cross club with Jason. However, because I didn't pay much attention during the club, I didn't understand what they were doing at all.
The doctor was sweating profusely. Damn. I had the wrong room. He wasn't Dad. However, when I was about to move to another operating room, something caught my attention.
A faint diffusion was getting clearer and clearer. A beam of light appeared from the ceiling of the hospital roof. Bright light with flying dust. I recognized that light. That light had come to me after Retty-Tetty choked. It was a magical light.
What happened after that was unbelievable. It didn't make sense. The person on the operating table - but with the same shape as me now - was light and transparent, moving forward, flying, following the light. Before he completely disappeared, he turned his face towards me. A blank stare, but... peaceful. Then, static distracted me.
"We failed," said one of the nurses.
"He's gone, Doc," said another nurse.
The transparent patient disappeared completely with the light. I gasped. He was dead. But his soul... went with him. Then why didn't I? Something was wrong here.
I immediately connected everything I knew, my guesses, and what I had just seen. It was clear now. So, I was murdered. After I died, I should have gone with the light, like that person. But... because the killer hadn't been caught, I hadn't gotten justice, so I was still here.
I envied the dead man. I wanted to go with the light too. At least it was better than being trapped in this life and death. I couldn't bear to see the people I loved grieve because of me forever.
"Take me with you! Take me away!" I screamed. Crying, but still nothing happened.
I was still intact. My soul was intact. I ran. Far away. Desperately walking through the hospital. I stopped in front of another operating room. That's where Dad came out. When he came out, his face met mine. Something strange happened again. He shivered. Goosebumps. As I got closer to him, he pressed his body with both hands.
