[...We Felines Hate Water...]

"What do you mean? I did everything perfectly, everything, and you're telling me we're going to have to run away again from these blasted cretins!?" Joy's hoarse voice echoed throughout the small concrete bunker in rage.

Her voice was gargled and debilitated, like water sloshing around in a bottle, her speech slurred and sticky as her toothless gums pushed against the few teeth she had left, which resulted in wet whistles through the gaps.

Joy's body-- bandaged and bruised from the beating she received from Leo, still lingered in her mind, eating and biting away at her, parasites and bugs under her skin-- shuffling about in her mouth and under her eyes and eating her flesh.

"We have to retreat for now; they have forces closing in on us through the city; we won't last much longer, please-" Joy's neck snapped toward the Claw trooper, her purple glowing eyes seeping and piercing through the trooper while her short snout sharply regressed into a primal, bloody, growl.

Said-- Claw Trooper standing some ways away, overlooking a map on a table that was worse for wear-- covered in small pebbles and dust that rained from the ceiling with each explosion that rocked the degrading shelter.

Her gloved hands clenched both ends of the table firmly as she listened to the pleas from the soldiers.

A handheld radio rested on the map. Disembodied voices screaming-- and hollering, practically begging on the other end for a plan of retreat as AU forces closed in on them with heavy armor.

"You better shut the fuck up if you like having mush for brains, you useless doll!" Joy raised her bandaged and bloodied arm at the Claw, a gun in her hand. The end of the barrel pointed directly at the operative's unprotected head-- while Joy's finger twitched to pull the trigger of the Raptor.

The operative quivered and stepped back, her voice too strangled to form a coherent sentence. She stuttered and huffed, the loud beating of her heart filling the stillness of the room and bouncing off the walls in clamorous, echoing, fast-paced rhythms.

"S-Sorry," the CLAW operative squeaked.

Joy's cold and piercing gaze continued to creep into the depths of the operative soul until she scrunched forward, clenched her head, and screamed, the gun in her hand mere inches from her skull as her hands strained.

The sounds from her throat shrieked in a bloodcurdling and violent howl that tore into the ears of those in the room who unwillingly listened.

Saliva leaked down her slimy, black, folded lips, staining her red and black fur that caused moist splots to form on her chin.

The eyes in her sockets grew larger and swelled out from her head, bloodshot red veins forming around the white of her eyes, whispering the words, 'Master,'

The rest of the troops looked on, all of them standing in the far corners of the room as the shelter continued to tremble from the bombs that went off outside, but to them, it felt like it emanated from Joy.

The anthro scratched and shuddered all over, tearing into her fur, and then her skin, blisters appeared, and wounds opened. Blood trickling-- flowing down her body like a steady stream.

Her teeth were jittering, the chatter filling the room with her cries and the cries from the radio.

She took in rapid breaths

Joy's head cranked towards the operative so fast it was as if her neck snapped somewhere in the quick, sudden motion.

"Tell the Avians to stop sitting on their jewels and go!" she said, venom etched in her voice, her face narrowed.
