.
You watch the door intently, wondering if it will swing open with one of your brothers refusing to listen to the doctor but doubt any of them would have the guts after an hour of being scolded by the sweet old man.
Thankfully, after them being glued to you twenty-four seven for the past four days, your doctor finally told them off. He ushered them to go home and get some rest saying they needed to get a grip over themselves more than you did, and that you'd be discharged the next day anyways.
Back then, you'd readily agreed with the doctor, nodding violently to basically everything he said. Max even looked slightly betrayed by your support for him, but it's true. The bags under their eyes are good proof that they need some sleep.
Though, now that your hospital room is completely empty for the first time in a few days, you find the silence quite overwhelming to bear.
All the thoughts you'd pushed to the back of your head due to chaotic company all around keep on swirling viciously in your mind. It's not that you don't wish to address them, just that you're too frustrated being cooped up inside and not allowed to do anything.
Your brothers wouldn't even let you have lifted a glass on your own.
The only thing you could do was either converse with your brothers, or keep on texting your friends, both of which reduced by the third day when you almost ran out of things to say.
You don't really understand why you have to spend another night here. You're well enough to run a marathon now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. And besides, four days is more than enough to beat exhaustion.
Stretching with a loud hum, you lay down into the bed, pulling your sheets overhead.
This sudden wave of solitude after a rather spatially cramped bunch of days is slightly hard to adjust to, probably because being cooped up in your little medical prison has you almost losing your mind.
No.
You spring up in a seating position like a vampire rising from her coffin and turn your neck towards the window. Not a bone in your body can stay stuck to this bed any longer — you're tired of resting.
There is a lot in your head that must be heeded:
one, Baji sort of still blames himself for what went down with you the night of the festival and you're yet to convince him otherwise. Once discharged, you plan to sit and have a long talk with him about it.
two, Draken has been doing quite well, though he's just as done with being cooped as you are. He sadly informed you today that he'd have to stay longer and you had to hit him with a "bitch, you were stabbed" for him to accept it's necessary.
three, Kawata Nahoya has not contacted you at all in the past few days. Of course, considering the trouble you've caused for him recently, this is absolutely plausible. This doesn't stop you from feeling pretty shitty about it. No matter how cracked of a guy he may be, he's still someone you consider to be pretty close to you. Him not coming only intensifies the guilt you feel for everything that happened.
You get off the bed and walk towards the window in search of a breath of fresh air.
Sendou, when visiting the previous day, informed you that Takemichi's hand had been healing well. He sat for quite some time, looking more glum than you are, about you being cooped up inside. Sendou says it's not so fun going to school with the idiots anymore and that you should hurry and heal up.
He was happy to hear you're being discharged tomorrow. His visit led you to realise another thing that had absolutely skipped your mind.
four, exam week is up soon.
