── .✦ PRINCE BEN stood on the small platform in his bedroom wearing an un-tailored dark blue suit as the tailor lifted his arms, measuring the lengths and widths. He stared out the window at the small, banished island of darkness, unaware of the shorter prince's rambling nearby.

"Head." The tailor moved Ben's head forwards roughly in a stressed manner and wrapped the measuring tape around the boy's head for the size of his crown. That's when Ben finally realised that his best-friend was still ranting on the couch.

"Your parents are most definitely going to murder you, and if they do, don't tell them I had any part in it because if so, I'll die too. I'll get smacked up the head by my mom with a pan! And eventually stabbed by my dad, and that isn't a great way to go out. Trust me, I'd know." Freddie rambled on as he sketched a crown in his sketchbook. He always designed the crowns and tiaras for everybody, his mind was incredible. He always had a perfect personalised design for everyone and anyone.

"Yeah, yeah, sure." Ben nodded, looking back out of the window and Freddie glanced up from the book to his friend who was definitely in his own world, causing the Fitzherbert to roll his eyes in defeat, not even attempting to get his attention once more.

"How is it possible that you're gonna be crowned King next month?" King Adam entered the room with Queen Belle on his arm, catching both of the boys' attention immediately, "You're just a baby!"

"He's turning sixteen, dear." Belle reasoned as she grinned at the boy on the couch, Freddie quickly smiled back before continuing on his sketch as he silently listened.

"Hey, Pops." Ben greeted his dad, looking down to his feet nervously. He wasn't completely sure about the decision he was making, but since Freddie had agreed to it, it made him all the more tempted to go forward and arrange it.

"Sixteen?" Adam pulled his glasses off with a confused look, and Belle stopped in her tracks to take Ben's clothes from the Football Table so she could fold it properly, "That's far too young to be crowned King. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least forty-two."

The woman scoffed, looking up at her husband in disbelief as he grinned at his son and Freddie, who was smiling down at his book in amusement, "Uh. you decided to marry me at twenty-eight."

"It was either you or a teapot." Adam replied, winking at Ben, who chuckled lightly at his dad's joke, "Kidding."

"Mom, Dad..." Ben finally built up the courage to announce his proclamation to his parents, and began to move from the platform but the tailor looked up, stopping the prince in his tracks.

"Ah! Mmm-mmm." The tailor pointed his finger up at the boy, who took his foot back, and stood still in defeat.

"I've chosen my first official proclamation." Ben announced and the couple smiled at each other in shock before they quickly looked back at the boy with smiles, as well as Freddie who was also watching intently, "I've decided that the children on the Isle of the Lost be given a chance... to live here in Auradon."

Both the King and Queen gasped, Belle dropping Ben's shirt from her hands shockingly, causing Ben to continue, "Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandoned." He stepped down from the platform and walked towards his parents.

"The children of our sworn enemies? Living among us?" Adam questioned, completely baffled by his son's choices. Belle quickly glances at Freddie with scrunched eyebrows, she knew the boys told each other everything, but Freddie just played dumb and made it out as if he knew nothing of it.

"We start out with a few at first, only ones who need our help the most. I've already chosen them." Ben smiled at his mother, who seemed accepting of the decision but Adam stepped forward with a challenging expression.

"Have you?" He furrowed his brows, staring at Ben confusingly.

"I gave you a second chance." Belle gripped onto her husband's forearm and he slowly looked over at her as she looked over at Ben, "Who are their parents?"

"Here we go." Freddie mumbled under his breath as he stared back down at his book, pretending to be unaware of the situation before him so he didn't get in trouble.

"Cruella de Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen... and Maleficent." Ben stood tall, puffing his chest out and the tailor screamed, dropping his books, causing Freddie to giggle quietly at the reaction.

"Maleficent?" Adam yelled in anger, pointing at the window, "She is the worst villain in the land!"

"Dad, just hear me out here..." Ben tried to reason but Adam just stuck his finger out in the prince's face.

"I won't hear of it. They are guilty of unspeakable crimes." The King stated with rage, and the tailor and the guards all left the room to give the family some privacy.

"Should I leave or...?" Freddie pointed his thumb over at where the other three left but the two men ignored him as they continued to argue.

"Dad, their children are innocent. Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life? Dad?" Ben tried to reason, tilting his head at his father convincingly and the man stared down at her ground for a moment in thought. He glanced over at his wife for her opinion, and she shrugged her shoulders slightly, silently agreeing with her son.

"I suppose the children are innocent." Adam eventually admitted, and Ben smiled at his dad before he quickly smiled at Freddie, who celebrated internally. The King walked away, standing nearby with his back to the three and Belle stood in front of Ben, fixing his collar.

"Well... Well done." She grinned at him in a motherly proud manner, causing him to smile before she turned on her heels, strolling towards her husband, "Shall we?" He held his arm out, and she grabbed onto it, the couple leaving just as they arrived.

As soon as they left, the two best-friends gave each other joyous looks before Freddie stood from the couch and they both began to cheer frantically. Ben ran into him and they both hugged tightly in celebration. Little did they both know this would be the best decision they'd ever made.
