...........................................................*Jungkook's POV*
The sound of rain tapping against the windows was a constant backdrop to Jungkook’s restless thoughts. It had been three days since he had hired the elite security team, and while he felt a faint sense of hope, it was overshadowed by a gnawing dread. The team’s arrival had been met with efficiency and professionalism, but the fear of losing more people weighed heavily on him.
The team, consisting of David, Mike, Alex, and Liam, had immediately begun their work. David had taken charge, organizing a detailed security plan, while Mike set up an intricate network of surveillance around Jungkook’s residence. Alex had conducted a thorough assessment of the premises, and Liam had begun digging into the stalker’s digital footprint, attempting to trace any leads.
For the first time in weeks, Jungkook found some solace. The presence of these professionals, their expertise evident in every action, provided a small measure of security. However, the gnawing feeling that things could go wrong at any moment lingered.
---
Late that night, Jungkook was woken by a loud crash from the security room. Panic surged through him as he rushed to the door, only to be stopped by Mike, who burst into his bedroom, his face pale.
“Mr. Jeon, you need to get to the safe room now!” Mike urged, his voice taut with urgency.
Jungkook’s heart raced as he followed Mike, his mind whirling with the implications of the chaos outside. As they made their way to the safe room, Jungkook caught glimpses of the devastation. The once-secure surveillance room was a mess of broken equipment and overturned furniture. The monitor screens displayed nothing but static.
“Where’s David?” Jungkook asked, fear creeping into his voice.
“He’s engaged with the intruders. We need to lock this door and stay hidden,” Mike said, his hands shaking as he activated the security mechanisms.
Jungkook could only nod, his throat dry as he followed instructions. He could hear muffled shouts and gunfire echoing through the walls, each sound more unsettling than the last. He huddled in the corner of the safe room, the weight of the situation sinking in.
Hours seemed to stretch into an eternity. The noises outside eventually dwindled to an eerie silence. Mike, who had been pacing nervously, finally broke the silence.
“I need to check the situation outside,” Mike said, his voice filled with dread. “Stay here.”
Jungkook watched as Mike left the room, his heart pounding. Time dragged on until Mike’s urgent voice echoed through the door.
“Mr. Jeon, you need to come out! They’re all…”
The sound cut off abruptly, leaving Jungkook’s heart racing. He waited, breathless, for what felt like an eternity before he mustered the courage to leave the safe room. When he finally emerged, the sight that greeted him was one of complete devastation.
David lay lifeless in the middle of the hallway, his face twisted in a grimace of pain. Mike’s body was slumped against the wall, his eyes vacant. The security room had been ransacked, and the high-tech equipment was destroyed. Alex and Liam were nowhere to be found.
Jungkook’s legs felt like lead as he stumbled through the wreckage. The grim realization that his new security team had been slaughtered was almost too much to bear. He could see their personal effects scattered on the floor—a testament to their abrupt and violent end.
The terror from the previous weeks now seemed like a distant memory compared to the horror of that night. The stalker had broken through the strongest defenses Jungkook could hire. The message they had left was clear.
A piece of paper was pinned to the wall with a knife. Jungkook’s hands trembled as he read it.
*"You thought you could hide behind these pathetic guards. They were never meant to keep me away. Only I can keep you safe, and you will come to me, one way or another."*
---
The morning light brought no comfort. The police arrived, their faces grim as they examined the scene. Jungkook sat in a corner of the living room, his hands clasped together, his mind numb from the recent events.
Jimin had arrived, his face etched with concern as he sat beside Jungkook, trying to offer comfort in the wake of the tragedy.
“I don’t know what to do,” Jungkook whispered, his voice cracking. “They’re all gone. What if the next one is me?”
Jimin placed a reassuring hand on Jungkook’s shoulder. “We’ll figure this out. There has to be something we can do. We can’t let this person win.”
Jungkook nodded, though he felt the crushing weight of despair. The stalker had proven to be relentless and deadly. The notion of escaping their grasp seemed increasingly impossible.
As the police continued their investigation, Jungkook knew that his situation was more perilous than ever. The stalker had shown their willingness to kill anyone who got in their way. Jungkook was alone again, his previous sense of security shattered beyond repair.
---
In the shadows, Taehyung watched the unfolding chaos with a twisted satisfaction. The team of elite operatives had been nothing but pawns in his grand scheme. Each death, each moment of fear, was a step closer to claiming Jungkook entirely.
Taehyung had orchestrated the whole scene with a precise, ruthless hand. The message had been sent, and it was clear: Jungkook was his, no matter how many people had to fall to make that reality.
Taehyung’s obsession burned brightly. The game was far from over, and he was prepared to continue playing until he had what he desired.
And Jungkook would come to him, one way or another.
