Most of the cheaper options did not look safe or welcoming in the slightest, and one apartment complex listing looked haunted.

So, for now, she'd settle for working two jobs if it meant she didn't have to live in a rat-infested, creepy, run-down complex that may or may not be haunted.

And so, off she ventured into the wilderness that was New York, donning the most professional-looking outfit she owned; A white long-sleeve, a leopard print maxi skirt, and red boots with a red leather jacket thrown overtop.

It's very Pinterest-coded. How am I doin' with the gen-z slang? Am I using it right? I keep asking Laura to teach me but she just laughs in my face. Evil child.

Walking through the busy streets, she pulled her bag tighter to her, huffing as the cool autumn air nipped at her skin.

She walked a total of seven blocks to get to her job interview. While to some, that may not seem like a lot. To Estrella, it was way too much, as she stood at about 5'1 and was very out of shape. Her short legs could only take so much, and seeing as her car was still in the shop, she would be forced to exercise for the foreseeable future if she landed this job position.

In hindsight, purchasing a nearly twenty-year-old Honda Odyssey may not have been the smartest move for Estrella, at the time she was only seventeen and had desperately needed a car. It was the only one she could afford, plus she painted it a very pretty purple.

The walk to the bar was nearly half an hour, and by the time Estrella had made it, she was a panting mess. Her legs ached and she was sure her hair had been ruined by the brisk winds.

Walking into the bar, she made a beeline for the nearest empty seat. Sitting down, she placed her bag on the table as she held a hand to her chest.

Her stamina is pretty shit. I wonder how that'll go with Logan, y'know. * wink, wink*

She sat there for a while, slowing her breathing as her heart felt like it would give out.

God, she hated exercise.

When she no longer felt like she would pass out, she cautiously stood up, fixing her hair as she smoothed out the wrinkles on her shirt.

Glancing around the bar, she grabbed her bag off the table and wandered around, looking for the manager whom she'd called days prior. The bar had been looking for waitresses, which apparently, bars needed.
