TRIGGER WARNING - A lil make out session, nothing much tho.

Chloe's POV

I bite my lip, feeling the weight of Red's earlier words as they hang between us. The teasing about sharing a room, the playful hints—it's like a spark, igniting something inside me. We've been playing it so safe lately. No rushing, no pressure. Barely even kissing, except for those light pecks, the kind that are sweet but never linger long enough to feel like the way we used to be.

It's not that I haven't wanted more. Of course, I have. But Red's been through so much, and I've never wanted to push her. I want her to feel ready, to let her decide how close we get. So, I've held back, kept things at her pace. I've been content with holding hands, with the simple comfort of just being near her. But now... this? What she's hinting at? It's different. It stirs something in me I've been trying to keep buried, trying to be patient.

I lean in a little closer, looking into her eyes, which are still playful but carrying that intensity that makes my heart race.

- Red? - I ask calmly

- Yeah, Chlo?

- You know we've been... taking things slow. - I say softly, my voice betraying the excitement bubbling underneath. - We're barely kissing, and I haven't pushed because I want it to be on your terms. But what you're saying now... About us sharing a room...

I trail off, letting the sentence hang, hoping she feels the same pull that's tugging at me.

Red's teasing grin softens slightly, and there's a flicker of something deeper in her eyes. She shifts closer, her knee brushing against mine, her fingers lingering on my hand just a little longer.

- I know. - She says, her voice quieter now, almost vulnerable. - And I appreciate it, Chloe. I really do. You've been patient, and I needed that. But... maybe I'm ready to take a step forward. Slowly... but forward.

My heart skips a beat, the excitement rushing back. I can feel the shift between us, like something's finally clicking into place after weeks of careful distance.

- Are you sure? - I ask, my voice barely above a whisper, needing to know she's really ready.

Red nods, a small smile tugging at her lips as she leans just a little closer.

- Yeah. I'm sure. We don't have to rush into anything, but... I think we're ready for more than just being careful all the time.

Her words send a thrill through me, and I can't help but smile.

- Good. - I whisper, leaning in to brush my lips against hers.

As our lips meet, the world around us seems to dissolve. The kiss starts tenderly but quickly intensifies, filled with the passion we've both been holding back. I feel Red's hands move to my waist, pulling me closer. Without a second thought, I shift to straddle her lap, my knees pressing into the cushions on either side of her as I press my body against hers.

Our breaths come quicker, and I can't help but respond to the heat between us. My hands find their way into her hair as I start to grind my hips against her. I look into her eyes, seeking reassurance.

- Is this okay? - I whisper, my voice trembling with anticipation.

Red meets my gaze with a soft, reassuring smile.

- Yes. - She breathes out, her hands gripping my waist firmly.

Encouraged, I continue, feeling the heat grow between us. Every movement feels electric, as if we're both rediscovering each other.

As our kiss deepens, my hands start to explore Red's body, tracing the curves of her back. The passion builds, and I feel like we're on the brink of something more. My fingers gently graze the edges of her shirt, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath. The sensation is intoxicating, and I can't help but want more.

Red's hands remain steady on my hips, guiding me with a firm but gentle touch. It's clear she's just as affected as I am, but there's something else in her eyes—something that hints at hesitation.

In between kisses, Red pulls back slightly, her breath warm and shaky against my lips.

- Chloe... - She murmurs, her voice a blend of tenderness and resolve. - This is as far as we should go for tonight.

I freeze, my movements slowing as her words register. The heat of the moment cools just a bit, and I look into her eyes, searching for understanding. My cheeks flush with warmth, and I pull back slightly, giving her the space she needs.

- Is it okay if we just... stay like this? - I ask softly, my voice steady. - I'm fine with just this. I'm happy with how things are right now.

Red's eyes soften with a mix of relief and affection.

- Really? - She asks, her voice barely above a whisper. Her hands gently hold my waist, as if afraid I might pull away entirely.

- Yeah. - I confirm, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. - I'm okay with just being close to you like this. It's more than enough for me.

Red's smile widens, and she pulls me into a tender embrace. We stay like that for a while, wrapped in each other's arms. Her warmth against me is comforting, and despite the intensity of our earlier passion, there's a soothing tranquility in just being together.

We lie there, our breathing gradually evening out, and I can feel Red's heartbeat beneath my cheek. It's a reminder of how far we've come, and how much more there is to explore together. Even though we didn't take that final step tonight, the connection we're building is more than enough.

I rest my head against her shoulder, feeling her fingers gently caressing my back. We talk softly about nothing and everything—school, our plans, the future. The conversation is easy, filled with a sense of contentment that only comes from being close to someone you care deeply about.

Red's hand finds mine, and she gives it a gentle squeeze.

- Thank you for tonight. - The says softly, her voice tinged with emotion. - For understanding.

I squeeze her hand back, my heart full.

- Thank you for being honest with me. - I reply. - We're getting there, little by little. And I'm okay with that. I just want us to be together, however that looks.

We spend the rest of the evening wrapped in each other's arms, the night sky stretching out above us, a silent witness to our growing bond. Even though we didn't cross that final threshold tonight, I know that we're making progress, and that's what matters most.

We're gonna be fine.
