As the sun casted a warm glow through the windows, Maevah opened her eyes after a good nights rest.
Preparing for the festival is really exhausting but since it would be her first festival in Tempest after she and her sister arrived in there, she was excited for it so exhaustion is nothing.
Rolling on the bed, she felt arms wrap around her pulling her to a sturdy chest.
"Hmmm? I thought, you're out for the morning meeting?" Maevah giggled when Rimuru playfully tickled her.
"I did. But I cut it short. Today is the first day of the Festival so I needed to get ready," Rimuru replies, kissing his wife on the cheek. "And you, you cheeky little minx, I heard you still insisted on that usher role, despite me saying, no?"
Maevah smiled sheepishly turning so she could look her husband in the eye.
"It's only for today. You won't be disappointed I promise. I'm good at handling visitors," she assured him, making Rimuru sigh.
"What else can I do? You've already made up your mind. Fine, but only for today, you hear me? Tomorrow, you have to take your place by my side," he warns with a playful glare and Maevah only chuckled as a response.
He couldn't help but smile back, as his hands raked through her hair that smelled like flowers on a warm summer breeze.
Ah, to think he was given this bliss. But he was really grateful for it.
"By the way, I'll be your stylist for today, hubby," Maevah declares and leaned up to peck him before jumping out of bed. "Wait a mo!"
Rimuru could only watch in amusement as his wife dashed to their walk in closet and pondered on all the formal clothes that he has. He is aware of Maevah's fashion sense, as she won Miss Universe and all so he trusts her hands on fashion.
Returning a few minutes later, Maevah laid the suit on the bed and tied her hair in a bun so it won't get in the way. Soon, Rimuru is now dressed in his formal attire.
"Hmm, something is missing," the empress looked him up and down, now clad in his suit. "Ah yes!"
Waving a hand, a swirl of her magic rained on him and when it faded, Rimuru saw a pheonix design tailored on his formal coat. It isn't the usual reddish and orange phoenix but Maevah's entity, the white one basked in skybluish mist of fire.
A smile tugged on the corners of his lips. The design fit so well and it almost looks like it's alive. "Ah, showing the guests your claim on me now, darlin'? I am not complaining," he teased and he wasn't disappointed.
Maevah scowled and smacked him on the arm.
"And if I do? So, what? Just sit down already so I can fix your hair!"
"Hai, Hai!"
Rimuru chuckled but obeyed. Oh, he just loves seeing his wife all worked up because of his teasing. Is he the only husband like that?
Anyways, it's finally time for their annual festival. And although, there are enemies amongst the guests, he is certain, he would make sure, this festivity starts and ends with Tempest making another impactful history.
