The magic council.
One that utteredly ridiculed Fairy Tail before, but the one they most relied upon when they were in trouble. As the saying goes, reserve judgement for later. They judged Fairy Tail before due to going overboard on fights, and their occasional rowdy rumbles.
But time came when it was Fairy Tail who solely saved them.
Well, that was the old administration though.
Those who are in position, now?
Let's just say they have this huge soft spot for the guild.
Anyways, they were the next ones to welcome Rimuru and his ever loyal subordinates in their fancy, luxurious domain.
Only this time, the dragon slayers were present along all those members who stayed in Tempest before.
The exchange of greetings was fancy.
In fact too fancy that Rimuru had to ask Raphael if the members of the magic council are alright.
"So, Emperor Rimuru, since many have judged your character already, let's skip that part. We are well aware that you want to be on good terms with humans so we acknowledge that. Furthermore, you are married and soulmated to Princess Maevah of Alvarez so that rest this case."
"Hmmm?"
The councilman sweatdropped at Maiah's intense gaze. The princess had her arms crossed and was starring dangerously at him.
"Ah, Princess Maiah, I don't mean anything bad with what I just said. It is true we are weary of Tempest before but with all those witnesses, we are not sending a spy to Tempest if that is what you are angry about."
"That's not it!"
"Eeekk!"
The flinching councilman almost fell out of his seat. Heck, even Rimuru and the others got startled.
"You really have this habit of putting everyone in your suspicious list before you even get to know a person or a nation for that matter. And the way you do it is just so annoying as heck. First it was Fairy Tail, making small stories blow out of proportion and make people wary of us!" Maiah's eyes glinted that if looks could kill, then the councilman is no more.
"T-that is not us though," the poor head of the magic council tried to defend himself.
"I know that! But that is still your way of putting things in what you call is order. What order, huh?! Get your facts straight first."
Seeing her not stopping anytime soon, Noir had to gently calm her down, although he himself is amused. His soulmate has chosen that day to vent out her frustration? That's just rich.
Maevah had to look away, trying so hard not to laugh at the councilman's face, instead of trying to diffuse the situation.
Rimuru sighed and decided to just do that job.
"I apologize for that councilman. My sister in law is this protective you see. However, I must agree that you should get to know someone first before judging them. Just jumping to conclusions only based on hypothetical issues could really get your council in trouble you know. I know it's not my place to talk but -"
"I get it. I know that but I was forced on this too you know!" The councilman pulled down his hood obscuring half his face to reveal a young man much younger than Maiah. Now this is a shock.
"Ehhh? A child?" Shion say in disbelief.
"No doubt about that," Souei agrees, blinking expressionless at the youngest head, the magic council ever had.
