A strong punch turned Rimuru's face to the side as Maevah abruptly sat up. Her fist connected with his cheek and the force had almost thrown him out of bed.

"Ackk! What the heck, Maevah! What is that for?! Why punch me the moment you wake up and after what I did for you?!"

"I have seen that coming," Raphael's nonchalant voice rung in his mind and he felt betrayed.

"And you didn't bother telling me?! Traitor!"  The king replied mentally to his skill who just huffed at him as well.

"What in the world! Why are you like this too, Raphael?"

"It's your own fault though."

"What?"

Maevah swings her fist at him again but he dodged this time.

"Baby, seriously, talk instead of attacking me like this. How would I know what you are so mad about if you keep your mouth shut?"

The queen frowns but pulled back nonetheless. Her cheeks flushed with annoyance as she smacked him. "Who in the world told you to pry into my memories and linger on things you shouldn't?! You should've just get what you wanted and left!" She yells on his face and Rimuru's brows furrowed.

What the heck is his wife getting at?

Hay, ladies and their unpredictable mood sometimes. Couldn't she just get straight to the point instead of letting her small fist do the talking?

He was about to explain why he needed those memories of hers but Maevah beat him to it.

"You've seen me bathing, you idiot!!"

And there goes her flurry of smacking.

Gosh, just for that?

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Why does she have to make a big deal out of this? They are married in the first place and he tied the knot with her before he dived into those memories of her. As if he did anything illegal.

What an overdramatic queen.

Maevah hugged herself next and the slime just watched her with a done expression. He had anticipated her to wake up jumping in his arms but it seems that's just a far fetched dream now.

"How could you? I-"

"Maevah Tempest, listen well and good. I had to do that, okay? It's not my fault you were practicing your elemental powers in the bath so I had to watch. Plus, you were in the bathtub covered with bubbles. I didn't exactly see you in your birthday suit. And even if I did, what's the big deal? You are my wife, you see."

"Ahhh! It is a big deal, okay? I don't exactly have the nicest body. I have scars from my previous battles, I'm not the most slim there is, I look like a potato-"

Yada.... yada.... yada...

Rimuru didn't resist this time. He rolled his eyes for the nonesense, he heard escaping his woman's lips.

Maevah's words were cut off when the king had enough and pinned her on the bed, golden orbs drilling into her very own.

Their lips connected  for a quick but angry kiss.

"Shut up. How dare you hurt me like this. I love you for you and that love is not limited to what I see physically. I don't care how your body is. As long as you are healthy, doest it really matter? Don't put words in my mouth, love," he warns firmly.

Maevah stares at him in disbelief. She hates it that her insecurity has to get in the way and ruin their moment. But she can't help it. She is an overthinker sometimes.
