Swayam and I leaned casually against the door, while Ritu and Lirio stood on either side of Sam.
I spent the whole time sneaking glances at Ritu, but when her expression suddenly shifted, I followed her gaze to see what had caught her off guard.
She slowly brushed away the strands of hair covering Sam’s neck and chest, and I gasped at the sheer number of hickeys scattered across her skin.
Lirio coughed awkwardly, and Swayam?
He looked like he was ready to stare at anything but her- a wall, the floor, even the ceiling would do.
Ritu on the other hand, raised her eyebrows as she glanced between Swayam and me, while both of us did the best to look innocent-though they clearly failed miserably.
“Kitne nirlajjy hawasii log ho tum dono! Saale, suoron ki aulaad, narak mein bhi tumhein jagah nahi milegi!" She fumed, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
I couldn’t hold back my laughter and let out a snicker, earning a sharp death glare from my baby. I quickly silenced myself, pressing my index finger to my lips in mock innocence.
Lirio glanced at me like she had just witnessed a blue moon.
I mean, who wouldn’t be surprised at what his grandson was up to just for the sake of love?
“Meri baat kaan khol ke sun lo,” she warned, her voice turning deadly serious. “Agar iske recovery ke dauraan apne ashleelta nahi chhupa paaye toh iss baar main seedha smashaan ghat mein milungi tum dono se.”
Sam and Swayam were practically cowering like two scared kittens. Honestly, my baby is the cutest angry bird ever-but also terrifying when she's mad.
“Chal, ab shuru ho ja! Bata yeh sab siyappa kab kyun kaise hua,” she said, running her fingers through her hair dramatically like she was about to star in some crime documentary.
With a heavy sigh, she finally started narrating the whole story, while we all listened .
AUTHOR'S POV
It was just another hectic day at the hospital, with several staff members absent, those remaining under immense pressure. Sam's duty for the day was over . When she was ready to leave the staff room when a peon hurried into the room, panting.
“Ma’am, gynecic ke HOD sir aap ko bula rahe hai , kuch emergency hai,” he said, out of breath.
Sam's brows furrowed in confusion. Why would her HOD, from cardiology, want her in gynecology? As far as Sam could remember, the HoD had already left. Still, pushing away the strange feeling gnawing at her, she decided to go.
