SAM'S POV

The notification was from him, and as I read it, a chill ran down my spine.

"Good whore you are. Now, come meet me this evening. I want to see you beg for your life while I enjoy every bit of you breaking in front of me."

My whole body shivered. I wished I could go back to last night and erase any trace of this man from my memory.

I walked into the guest room, leaving the door half-closed, trying to hold back the tears. I couldn't let Swayam wake up because of me.

I didn't even realize when sleep overtook me, but when I woke up, I found a blanket covering me.

Removing it, I slowly made my way to my room. No one was there. I checked the bathroom and the other rooms, but he was nowhere to be found.

I went downstairs to find a plate of fruits and pasta waiting for me, along with my favorite iced coffee. But he was gone. There wasn't even a message from him.

I should've been relieved that he left. If that maniac found out about him, it would be disastrous. But my heart ached at how I had acted like a fool in front of him.

A lone tear escaped my eye. I shut them tightly, trying to push away the realization, and wiped the tear with the back of my hand. I took a spoonful of pasta, knowing he had ordered it from my favorite place.

As I ate, I picked up my phone and saw a message from Ri in our group chat. I clicked it open and read:

Ri: I have a program today at 6 PM. I want you two chirkundis to be there. I'll send the address soon. No excuses, unless you're pregnant.

I chuckled at her words, even as I wiped away the last of my tears.

I was almost done with my Odissi costume and makeup. Even though I'm not a fan of makeup, it's necessary for Odissi performances.

I had already applied the kajal, tikka, and everything else, but I was just about to put on the mukoot-the crown, one of my favorite parts of getting ready. I always feel beautiful when I wear the mukoot.
