After making sure Third got inside his home safely, I headed back to my penthouse. As I walked through the door of my house, I saw War sitting on the sofa, hugging his knees to his chest.

His posture and the way he looked up at me with those worried eyes made my heart ache. I could tell he had been waiting for me. I took off my jacket and tossed it onto the nearest chair.

I walked over and sat down beside him, holding his hand. "I'm sorry it took so long," I said softly.

War looked at me with concern. "How's Third?"

"I already sent him home. But he was too drunk for us to have a proper conversation."

"I'm glad you got him home safely. I'm worried, Yin."

"I'm sorry for leaving you alone at this hour," I uttered and buried my face in his hand. "I'm really sorry, baby."

He hugged me. "It's okay. You did the right thing. I'm just glad you are back."

I buried my face in his shoulder, letting out a sigh of relief. "I just don't know what to make of tonight. Third was a mess and I'm worried about him."

"I understand," War said while gently stroking my back. "But you were there for him when he needed it most. That's what matters."

I pulled back slightly to look at him. "I love you, baby."

He smiled and cupped my face, giving me a deep kiss on my lips. "I love you more, Yin."

TWO DAYS LATER

Today, we had an exclusive interview and photoshoot for the winner of the Bangkok Film Award. Of course, Third was there as well but the atmosphere was tense.

As we were in the dressing room for getting ready, the makeup artist applied foundation and touched up my look. I caught Third's reflection in the mirror. He seemed distant, as if he was in a different world altogether. Despite being in the same space, he avoided eye contact and remained in his corner of the room, trying not to interact.

I watched him for a moment. I knew we needed to address what happened but the situation seemed to be getting more complicated.

I walked to him after I was done with the make up. "Third, are you okay? You have been avoiding me," I asked straightforwardly.

Third looked up and bit his lower lip. "I'm fine, phi. Just...not in the mood for talking right now."

I raised an eyebrow. "Not in the mood? Again? You still didn't tell me the reason why you suddenly continued the contract, Third," I said in frustration.

He hesitated, then shook his head. "I don't want to talk about it."

I sighed. "You can't just avoid it. We need to sort things out, nong."

Before he could respond, the crew motioned for us to get into position for the photoshoot. Third gave a nod and turned away, leaving me standing there, feeling helpless.

The photoshoot went on, with Third keeping his distance but still maintaining a professional. Later, as we wrapped up and prepared to leave, I caught Third in the hallway, away from the prying eyes of the crew.

"Third, wait," I called out, catching up to him. But Jack suddenly came out of nowhere and blocked my way.

"Yin, we need to talk," Jack said and I watched Third already quickly walk away.
