A FEW DAYS LATER
───※ 𝙒𝘼𝙍 𝙋𝙊𝙑 ※───
The next morning, I woke up with a heavy feeling in my chest. As much as Yin tried to convince me to take a break for a few days, I couldn't. My patients needed me and despite everything that had happened, I couldn't just walk away from my responsibilities.
I sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing my eyes as Yin hovered nearby. "War, you should really take some time off. Just for a few days," Yin said gently, his hand resting on my shoulder. "No one would blame you for needing a break."
I shook my head. "I can't, Yin. I still have patients to take care of. I can't just leave them hanging."
Yin sighed, knowing how stubborn I could be. We had a brief argument, me insisting that I could handle it and him worried that I was pushing myself too hard. But in the end, he finally gave in, though I could see the reluctance in his eyes.
"Fine," he muttered. "But if anything happens, you call me immediately. Promise?"
I nodded, giving him a small smile to ease his worry. "I promise."
As we got into the car, Yin was unusually quiet, his fingers gripping the steering wheel tighter than usual. He parked at my usual spot outside the hospital, his eyes scanning the area. It was still early and thankfully, no one had gathered around because of the news.
"I will leave the car here and P'Wave will send someone to pick me up," Yin said, holding my hand and kissing it. "Just...be careful, okay?"
I nodded, offering him a small smile. "I will."
Yin then exited the car and opened the door for me. As I stepped out, I glanced around the hospital. The parking lot was mostly empty. I knew it was only a matter of time before the story spread further but for now, there was quiet. And I needed that.
"I will see you later. I love you, baby," Yin said and hugged me.
I smiled, hugging him back. "I love you too, Yin," I responded.
It seemed like just another ordinary day but I knew things were different now. The media frenzy could explode at any moment and I could only hope to get through the day without any unnecessary drama.
But deep down, I knew that was too much to ask.

As I arrived on my floor, the intense stares and hushed whispers from the nurses greeted me like a wave I couldn't avoid. Their eyes followed me with curiosity and judgment and I could even catch bits of their murmurs.
"That's him...the one with P'Yin," I overheard from one corner, followed by a few snickers.
"Noo, I believe that Yin and Third love each other," someone whispered just loud enough for me to catch.
I clenched my fists but forced myself to stay calm. It took every bit of strength I had not to react, to act like today was no different from any other day. I knew this would happen. The gossip, the judgment but it didn't make it any easier to face.
As I approached the nurse's counter, I spotted Ally, Sing, and Lyn, huddled together, whispering. Their conversation came to an abrupt stop the moment their eyes met mine. They exchanged awkward glances, clearly uncomfortable that I had caught them gossiping.
"Morning," I greeted them, forcing a polite smile even though my stomach was churning.
"Morning, Phi-P'War," Ally replied, her tone strained as if she were trying to keep things professional but was struggling to hold back what she really wanted to say. Sing and Lyn gave me an awkward smile.
