Jack sat back on his balcony as he swirled the wine in his glass. He chuckled as he scrolled through his phone, seeing the headlines about Yin and Third plastered all over the news. Perfect, he thought, chuckling to himself. Everything had played out exactly how he had hoped.
He had been at the club that night purely by coincidence but when he saw Yin and Third together, it was as if the stars had aligned. The way Third had drunkenly pulled Yin into that kiss...Jack couldn't have asked for a better scandal to exploit. His instincts had kicked in immediately, snapping photo after photo with his phone, capturing every incriminating angle.
Jack took a slow sip of his wine, savoring the moment. The media had eaten it up, just as he knew they would. Leaning forward, he picked up his phone and dialed a number. It rang twice before a familiar voice answered on the other end.
"Hey, thanks for running the story," Jack said smoothly. "I knew you knew what to do with those pictures."
The reporter on the other end, Pond chuckled. "You weren't kidding, Jack. That was gold. The story's blowing up."
"Of course it is," Jack said with a smirk. "Everyone loves a good story, I mean about their favorite ship."
He leaned back again with satisfaction and mischief. Everything had fallen into place so perfectly, almost as if some divine force had paved the way for him to witness that moment. He hadn't even planned on going to the club that night but now he felt like fate had handed him exactly what he needed.
"I will be in touch," Jack added before hanging up, his fingers tapping lightly on the rim of his glass.
He continued to scroll and scan through comments online. He chuckled, knowing it would impact Yin and War's relationship.
"Finally! We have been waiting for this YinThird moment forever!"
"They look so cute together, I knew something was up between them!"
"They are perfect! I hope this means something real is happening!"
He took another slow sip of wine. War was always so loyal, so infatuated with Yin but Jack knew better. He knew how fragile trust could be, how easily it could be shattered by something as small as a picture. One kiss...that's all it took, Jack mused, the image of War's devastated face playing in his mind.
War would be heartbroken and that's exactly what Jack wanted. He relished the idea of War crawling back to him, desperate and broken, seeking comfort from him.
'He will come back to me', Jack thought. 'Begging for forgiveness, for another chance. He will realize Yin was never good enough for him.'
He could already hear War's voice in his head. "I should have listened to you, P'Jack. I'm sorry. Please take me back."
The fantasy made Jack's chest swell with satisfaction. He had always known War would be his again, eventually. It was only a matter of time and now, with this news, War would have no choice but to come crawling back.
Setting his glass down, Jack stared out over the city. Everything was falling into place perfectly, just as he had planned. "Enjoy it while you can, Yin," Jack murmured to himself, his smile never fading. "Soon enough, War will be mine again."

The sun filtered through the blinds the next morning. War sat on the couch. The tension from the previous night had dissipated and there was a calm silence between him and Yin. They had talked for hours, worked through the pain and found their way back to each other.
