Joe's POV.

"You can't just break it open, it's gonna be too loud", I said.
Kai turned around to look at me.  "You have a better idea?"

"I don't know, just do it quietly"

"HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO OPEN UP A VENT QUIETLY?!", he whisper-shouted.

"CAN A FUCKING MINUTE GO BY WITHOUT YOU SUDDENLY STARTING TO SCREAM?!". I shouted back, tired of all of this.

"Well if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be screaming. AND I'M NOT EVEN SCREAMING", Kai said, definitly screaming.

I just decided not to say anything more to that and rolled my eyes. "Whatever, just scoot over, I can open it"

He raised his eyebrows, not really believing me, but still tried to make as much space as possible for me to go in front of him. "Well then, do your work", he said.

I looked at the vent, inscpecting it. Yup. Just a normal ass vent. Nothing special about it. Nothing I could do much different to open it. Well then, I guess we have no other choice.

Kai's POV.

I looked at Joe dumbfounded, and then at the broken vent next to him. Which he just kicked down. In a very loud way.

"WHAT THE FUCK?! I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DO IT QUIETLY?!", I fully shouted now, not caring if my voice could be heard by someone else or not.

"Well how do you expect to open up a vent without noise?", he said, looking at me like I'm the idiot here.

"YOU WERE THE ONE THAT TOLD ME TO OPEN IT UP WITHOUT NOISE! I COULD LITERALLY HAVE DONE THE SAME THING YOU DID JUST NOW BUT YOU STOPPED ME"

"Yeah because I didn't want you to open it in a loud way-"

"YOU JUST OPENED IT IN A LOUD WAY"

"-and I wanted to see if there is another option we could choose. Didn't find one though"

I just glared at him in response. Someday. Someday, I will kill this man for sure.

"Okay, so we're in the control room  and it seems like no one is here. What are you going to do now?", Joe asked while crawling out of the vent, followed by me. I looked around the room. It was a very basic control room, kinda small though. There was one long desk with 5 computers on it and behind it one big screen. I walked to one of the computers and sat down on a chair.

"You just sit there and wait for a bit, I got this", I said, booting up the computer.

"Joe's POV.

Kai did not get this. It's not like he has been sitting here for long- only like 10 minutes or so, but by the look on his face it's not looking like it's going well.

That's what I thought at first but apperantly that's just his resting face.

"Fucking finally. I did it", Kai said, turning around to look at me. "I turned the security off and put in the video you gave me. Now we only have to go to the ring, get it and run"

"Ah yes, the easiest part", I said sarcastically, to which Kai only rolled his eyes.

"Okay, we have to go back because the ring is where we just came from. Now with the cams off the way we don't really have to go in the vent, but I'ld say we still go there because there are guards walking around", I thought out load.

Kai looked at me with a sceptical look. "So you know the way back? Did Julia give you instructions for it?"

"Well no, but we just have to do what we did just in reverse, right? So that means... wait, let me think about this for a minute..." I pulled out my phone to write everything down.

In the meantime Kai wasn't any help at all, he was just walking around the room, touching stuff, mumbling something I didn't understand and not even trying to think with me.

Suddently he looked wide eyed at me. "Shit"

I didn't even have time to respond when Kai took my arm and shoved me back to the vent. Before he could also join he somehow got violently pulled from behind and pushed to the floor. Only then I saw the two guards holding him down, shouting something. One stood behind him looking like he was getting his walkie talkie. Fuck. Couldn't they have waited for two more minutes before entering the room?! We were just about to go out.

The guards didn't really look to my direction, so it looked like they haven't seen me yet. Kai must have heard them when they were still outside. Speaking of, Kai successfully kicked the walkie talkie of that man's hand, but couldn'd really do anything else before he got held down again. I saw someone putting his hands behind his back and cuffing them.

Kai hadn't looked at me, probably not trying to give the guards a hint that someone else was also with him.

Shit. I have to do something. If these guards warn someone, the entire museum will be filled with policemen.

"What were you doing here? Do you have something to do with the murder? Are there any people with you?"

Kai looked behind his shoulders to the man that was just shouting at him. Then, for a millie second he looked me in the eyes before abruptly jumping back, giving the guy behind him a headbutt and kicking the other in the guts. Then he ran to the other side of the room, backing against the wall.

Immediately after that all three guards ran to him, someone pointing a  gun at him and then the  two others came to hold him down, this time pushing his front against the wall and not letting go.

At first I was just utterly confused as to why Kai did that just now, before realising that now all the guards were looking in the opposite direction of me. I slightly had to smile at that. Aha, so Kai can also think smart sometimes.

I saw that the man was getting his walkie talkie from the ground. Fuck, why hadn't we thought about taking weapons with us in case something went wrong? I quickly looked around the room, trying to find something that could help me.

And luckily I found a big chunk of wood that was laying next to a table for whatever reason. While I tried to get there as fast as possible and also paying attantion in not being too loud, I thanked the construction worker that maybe was here and forgot some wood. I couldn't think of any other reason as to why wood was in a control room.

I grabbed the piece of wood and before the guard could turn on his walkie talkie I jumped at him and slapped the wood as hard as I could in his face. The sound of him falling down unconscious alarmed the other and they turned around.

Before they could react more I smashed one of them the wood  in his side and elbowed himin the nose. The other took out a gun, pointing it at me, but before he shot or I boxed him, Kai drop  kicked him in the chest and he went flying against the wall.

"Finally. Took you long enough", Kai said, rolling his eyes like it was my fault the guards came.

I glared at him. "Fuck off"

"Whatever. Take these cuffs off now", he said, turning to the side so that I could see the handcuffs keeping his arms together. Suddenly I felt a bit smug.

"I think it will take me really long though to search for the key because apperantly -" I instantly regretted my desicion to speak out load by the kick that this time was targeted against me, making me fall back. I grouned. "Alright, sorry, I got it. My god, can't even talk in front of you without you getting mad like a child-"

This time I got kicked in the face.

Kai's POV.

I felt something tugging against the cuffs on my hands before they were removed. While turning around to face Joe again, I slighly rubbed my wrists. "Good. Now go back to the vent before five other people come in"

Joe then went to the vent like I said, but stopped in front of it. He looked back at somewhere behind me, before locking his eyes with me again.

"What if I tell you I have a different plan?"
