Jeff

Alan had left in a hurry, guided by the sound of gunshots echoing like distant thunder in the chaos, and I was left with Way and who I assumed was Pete. The tension in the air was palpable, a dense energy that seemed to resonate in every corner of that ruined house.

"You shouldn't be here," I heard Way say harshly, with a mix of anger and concern in his voice. "You should be somewhere safe. If anything happens to you, Alan won't survive."

Those words resonated with me, giving me a small but important revelation about the relationship between Way and Alan. It wasn't just loyalty; it was a deep bond of care and responsibility, like an older brother fiercely protecting his sibling.

"I'll be fine, I came to help," I replied firmly, looking directly into his eyes. It was the truth. That vision... the vision where Dean shot Alan, I had seen it twice already. I couldn't stay still while danger loomed. I needed to be here, I needed to protect him. If only I could have another vision, one that would allow me to see everything more clearly... I thought, feeling the desperation grow in my chest, when I heard Otom's voice.

"Oh, Jeff, weren't you abroad?" he asked, confused upon seeing me.

"I came back," I replied simply, not taking my eyes off the increasingly unstable surroundings.

"We need to get out of here now," urged Otom, looking around with calculating eyes. "Everything is like a timed explosion. Mr. Way, my men will carry Pete out while we wait for the ambulance. It's too dangerous. Is the boss... here? Who else is?"

"Alan went after Dean and Winner through the special corridors," Way replied. "They might end up in the study."

"We need to warn the boss," Otom said as his men carefully lifted Pete. "Although... I doubt he'll listen to me," he finished, worried.

And he was right. I know Alan; he won't care about anything other than catching Winner and Dean. We need to warn him.

"I'll go with you," I said determinedly, feeling my heart start to beat faster.

"No, you need to go somewhere safe with me," Way snapped, his tone laden with a mix of authority and fear.

"No, I need to warn Alan and convince him to leave with me. It's too dangerous. Otom can go with me," I insisted, my eyes fixed on his, conveying a determination that could not be broken.

Way held my gaze for a long moment, understanding that I wasn't going to back down. He knew it. He knew that if it were him and Pete, he would do the same.

"I'll protect him, Mr. Way," Otom assured firmly.

Way nodded reluctantly.

"Let's go the normal way; it will be safer," Otom told me, guiding me through the ruined house. I could feel the dust and the smell of debris mixed with smoke in the air. Shortly after, the house shook again, the walls vibrating with the force of another distant explosion. My fear grew like a storm inside me. I couldn't bear the thought of something happening to Alan.

"I'm not sure if they're in the study," Otom began, but I interrupted him, my voice filled with an inexplicable certainty.

"They are. I can sense their presence nearby," I affirmed as we approached.

Otom and one of his men entered first. Alan was pointing a gun at Dean, who was kneeling, with North aiming at him from behind. Another explosion sounded in the distance, filling the air with dust and echoes. I felt the urgency to get out of there before it was too late. I hurried over.

"Alan, we need to get out of here," I insisted urgently. "Otom interrogated some men and confirmed that this was the contingency plan. The explosions can't be stopped anymore."
