The Day of Homecoming Coronation

This year, me and my best friends are now seniors. Our senior class is me, Katrina (Kat), Tara, Devyn, Sam, Jake, Corey, and Colby. The boys are all football players but as for us girls, Devyn and Tara are cheerleaders and Kat and me are volleyball players. 

Today is Monday, the first day of homecoming week which means we have homecoming coronation. Coronation is at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. The dress up day is country vs country club.

I parked my pickup in the parking lot in front of the school when i saw everyone coming over to my truck. I got out and the girls ran over to me. 

"GIRLY! YOUR OUTFIT SLAYS!"

Katrina shouted to hype me up.

I was wearing jeans, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, flannel, black tank top, sunglasses, and a belt for country. Kat had a white shirt and a pink skirt on with tenner shoes for country club. Tara had a flannel and jeans with tenner shoes for country. Devyn had a blue shirt with a white skirt and tenner shoes for country club. 

Sam and Jake had a t-shirt and white skinny jeans with tenner shoes and sunglasses to twin for country club. Corey had jeans and a tank top for country. Colby had the cowboy boots i got him, jeans, a tank top, sunglasses, belt, and hat. 

I grabbed my backpack and volleyball duffle bag and walked over to Colby, kissing him gently before we all walked into the school. Our first class was science, so me and the girls put our sports bags at our lockers and went in the science room with the boys. 

We sat at our desks that are all around each other as we were chatting. We still had 15 minutes till school actually started. Kat then spoke to me.

"Y/n, do you know who the homecoming king and queen is?"

I got confused.

"No. Why would i know?"

"Because you're on student council dummy."

I rolled my eyes.

"So are you."

"But you're the president!"

I shrugged.

"True. but don't know. Mrs. Q knows though. Her and the principle."

Colby got up from his seat and came behind me, putting his arms around my neck and putting his head on my shoulder.

"I'll win."

He mumbled tiredly. I giggled at that.

After 15 minutes, the bell rang, and we went down to the gym. I kissed Colby as he walked to the bleachers and i went over by the stage since I'm the president of student council. Mr. H, the gym teacher, gave me his speakers microphone so i could do the announcements on it. I walked over so everyone in the bleachers could see me and i could see them as all the teachers and staff stood by the stage.

"Alright everyone so right now we are going to start with the dress up voting. I will call your grade, and you will come stand on the volleyball court out line."

i started with pre-k through 5th grade first. After them, i did 6th through 12th. Then the teachers and staff lined up and student council members voted on them. Then i started announcing who was on what team for the volleyball games we were going to have throughout the week. We have 6 teams. Colby was on team 3 and i was on team 4. I said volleyball was at 3rd hour today and then i dismissed everyone. i met up with my class and we went to science.

It is now 3rd hour (for my school, 3rd hour is from 10:13 to 11:10) so we left the math room and went down to our lockers. I grabbed clothes to quickly change into and so did Devyn, Kat, and Tara. We went to the gym after and announced the first teams to play was team 1 and team 2. I did line judging. The game was 20 minutes long. 

After that game, team 3 and 4 was going to play so i was playing against Colby's team. Colby was first to serve on their team and i smirked at him and he saw which made him mess his serve up. Then i got to serve and i overhand jumped served it which Colby tried to dolphin dive to get but he didn't get it up enough.

Halfway through the game, i was in the 4th position and Colby was in the 3rd. Colby's team served it and as we were playing it, i jumped up to block it at the same time Colby tried to block it too and i tipped it over the net. Colby glared at me and i smirked. He rolled his eyes, and we went back to playing. 

After the game, my team won with 49 point and his team had 38. Colby came to me as i was walking to the locker room and he turned me around.

"You should have let my team win."

"No."

I said to him, and he smirked and kissed me gently.

Me and my class were now standing behind mats that were set up so no one could see us at the bleachers. Devyn had a blue sparkly dress on, Kat had a short pink dress, Tara had a sparkly lack dress, and i had a short black and red dress. Sam, Colby, Jake, and Corey had tuxedos on. 

Then the principle started to announce us, and we'd walk down to where there were chairs for us to sit at. The principle would say the girls name and who they are escorted by and then each of their parents.

"First we have Devyn Lundy getting escorted by Corey Scherer."

They walked down together and sat in chairs across from each other.

"Next we have Tara Mirshokraei *(I'm not a hundred percent sure on if the last names correct. Don't hate me!)* escorted by Jake Webber."

They walked down and sat across from each other.

"Next we have Katrina Stuart escorted by Samuel Golbach."

They walked down.

I looked up at Colby and he could see the nervousness in my eyes as he smiled and kissed my head reassuringly.

"Lastly we have Y/n Y/l/n escorted by Cole Brock."

We walked down and sat down. Then the principle grabbed the kings crown and sash along with the queens one too. She walked over to the boys first and the gym teacher had to do the rest of the announcing. 

"And this year's homecoming king is.... Cole Brock!"

Then the principle put the crown and sash on Colby, and he chuckled as the rest of the boys hyped him up. The principle came over to the girls now.

"And this year's homecoming queen is.... Y/n Y/l/n!"

I giggled as the sash and crown was put on me and i got up as me and Colby stood together for the principle to take a picture. After that, I looked up at Colby as he looked down at me.

"Told you I'd win."

He smirked.

Then we kissed and everyone cheered.
