Having A Baby

Me and Colby have been married for 2 years now. We'd been trying for a baby for a short amount of time before actually getting pregnant. Right now, I'm 40 weeks pregnant. I've been having Braxton Hicks since i was 38 weeks so today as i was feeling cramping, i figured it was the Braxton Hicks.

It was 9 A.M. right now and i couldn't sleep so i was bouncing on my pregnancy ball, trying to induce labor. I was rubbing my belly and listening to some light music i was playing on my phone. Then i saw a sleepy Colby come downstairs.

"Good morning."

I said smiling.

He smiled when he saw me and came over. He kissed me, then my baby bump which was bare because my shirt was pulled above it. 

"Morning my babies."

He said tiredly as he got back up and went to make himself coffee.

I went back to rubbing my belly and bouncing in my ball, occasionally getting some cramps. After 30 minutes, Colby came back in after getting ready and stuff and noticed i was uncomfortable.

"Hey baby. You ok?"

I nodded as i felt another cramp.

He got concerned and came over, placing his hand on my belly.

"Are you having contractions?"

I shook my head.

"I think it's Braxton Hicks."

Colby was still concerned but took my word for it.

At around noon, Colby started making lunch and i was walking around, doing random stuff. I came in the kitchen after going to the bathroom and while i was standing next to Colby i felt a big gush from between my legs and me and Colby looked down to see a clear, slightly bloody, puddled under me.

"Oh... my... god."

Colby mumbled as i felt a sharp pain in my lower belly and back.

I groaned and Colby quickly grabbed my hand and led me to the car. He also grabbed our hospital bags and we left to go to the hospital. When we got there, i got checked in and got a room. I put the gown on and a nurse came to check me.

"Good news, your 5 cm dilated."

I nodded and she left.

After going through 10 more hours of labor and quickly dilating, the nurse checked me again and i was at 10 cm. They got me ready and, in the stirrups, and the doctor and nurses got prepped. Colby was standing by my bed side, holding my hand.

"Ok, dear. On your next contraction, i want you to push."

At the next contraction, i bared down and squeezed Colby hand hard. 

He was stroking my hair from my sweaty forehead and would kiss it too. He was saying encouraging things to me the whole time. Eventually, is stopped to catch my breath and then pushed again. After going at that for 5 minutes, if felt burning between my legs and stopped.

"Ow! OW!"

I cried.  

"Ok sweetie, your crowning. Just pant. ok?"

I nodded and was panting. 

Colby looked between my legs and smiled back at me.

"They have lots of hair, baby."

"Really?"

I asked between pants.

"Do you want the mirror?"

The doctor asked smiling. 

I nodded and they rolled in huge mirror. I could see how much of the baby i pushed out and got determined to get the baby out now. After a while of panting, i groaned and squirmed a bit feeling the urge to push again.

"I need to push!"

"Ok honey. Then push for me on the next contraction."

I pushed and after a bit i felt a pop.

"The heads out!"

I heard the doctor. 

Colby was holding my hand and helping me but also watching between my legs as the baby was coming out. He was so curious and fascinated that it made me laugh a bit before feeling the pain again and i pushed on the next contraction.

After pushing for 15 minutes, i felt all the pain go away. I collapsed again the bed as the doctor put the baby on my chest.

"It's a girl!"

Everyone cheered and i teared up as i was looking at my daughter.

I placed my hands on her back as she screamed and cried, and Colby was crying too as he put an arm behind my head and placed a hand on the wet and slimy baby. He kissed me and looked at me with such love.

"I love you baby. Thank you so much for bringing this little one into the world."

He mumbled as he had his forehead again mine.
