"I've never seen those gloves before."

"They're from my Ravager days. It helps guide the claws to where they're supposed to be." I explained and Jean raised an eyebrow. "They move against bone when they grow so they tend to move around a lot which increases the pain. And if I'm not careful enough, they can sometimes pop out through my wrists which makes it even more painful... Went through enough of those when I was a kid and Dad was trying to teach me how to manage it."

"And you can't use it to break us free?" Scott asked, wiping his tears and I shook my head.

"The light around us acts as an inhibitor. I can close my fist and nothing's gonna happen... Same with your eyes, but I really don't wanna test that theory when we're hundreds of feet in the air."

"It should've been me... Alex was the one who was gonna do something with his life."

"That's not what he told me." I said and placed a hand on his shoulder. "All Alex did was talk about you and how proud he was of you. And he always said the same thing... That you were gonna make a difference in this world, not him."

"He talked to you about me?"

"Me, Charles, Hank, Sean, even Magneto once... Basically anyone who would listen to him yap about you."

"He used to talk about you too. Always went on about how strong you were but was still afraid of the dark." He admitted and I rolled my eyes. "And how you always managed to annoy him to no end."

"I have reasons to be afraid of the dark." I chuckled, resting my head on his shoulder and he reached out to hold my hand. "He was the brother I didn't know I needed... I was by myself for so long that I didn't know who I was. But Alex helped me. He made me forget I was a weapon for a bit."

"He was the best."

"He really was."

"This isn't the island... but the layout is very similar. We're at the lower levels so it'll be an easy escape."

"I can't get in. They have a field around it, like the helicopter." Kurt announced.

"There has to be a way to cut the power." Scott said and turned to me.

"Maybe on the upper levels where Stryker is. There's too many scents for me to trace."

"Scents?"

"Enhanced senses." I waved it off and smelled raw meat down the hallway. "Dad... he's here somewhere."

"We're not leaving until we get him out." Jean promised and I nodded. "But can't you use your claws to break the cell open?"

"It's been reinforced. Stryker learned from his mistakes because one time I broke free and quite literally ripped out someone's intestines."
