ARIZONAS POV

"Do you want to lay down?" I asked as we both changed into pajamas.

"Yeah," Amelia said. I laid down in my bed and patted the spot next to me. She laid down next to me and I immediately felt awkward. I just saw her naked in the shower but I can't lay down next to her. I fought every urge to kiss her because she's vulnerable and I felt bad. She was opening up to me about her past and all I wanted to do was make out with her. I was broken out of my thoughts when Amelia re-situated herself and laid her head on my chest.

"Is this okay?" She asked.

"Yeah," I said and wrapped my one arm around her waist. We both laid there silently for a few moments. I could feel the rhythm of her breathing. The way her chest moved up and down. I looked at the way her brown hair was sprawled over her shoulders and my chest. How perfect she was.

"Can I kiss you?" Amelia said as she looked up at me.

"Please do," I said softly. She pressed her soft lips against mine and I felt like my heart might burst. I pulled her close to me and wrapped my arms around her. I didn't know what this meant but I didn't care in the moment. I just wanted to be kissing her and only her.

"Arizona honey," I heard Amelia's sweet voice. I was half asleep in my bed.

"Mmm," I said. Amelia was awake next to me. I had my arm around her waist and was snuggled into her back.

"There was an explosion downtown we need to go to the hospital," Amelia said.

"Why did you not start with that?" I groaned. I looked at her and smiled. She kissed me again last night. I felt like a stupid teenager with a crush the way I acted around her. I studied her face and smiled. She was perfect. I looked down to her neck and noticed a few red rosy bruises. Shit.

"Shoot," I said and lifted her jaw with my finger, "do you have any high neck shirts?"

"I have a button up yeah," Amelia said, "maybe you should stop doing that." We both chuckled and I kissed her forehead.

"Sorry, I got a little carried away," I said.

DEREKS POV
Amelia walked into the attending lounge in a rush. I was here from last night but I'm assuming she went home. There was an explosion downtown and lots of injuries came in.

"Hey," she said.

"Hey," I said.

"Do I need to be briefed or can I just start going to the ER?" She asked as she put her bag in a locker.

"Why are you wearing a button up in this heat?" I asked.

"I don't need to get ridiculed by you again," she said, "you can use your brain and figure it out."

"I just want to make sure you're seeing someone nice," I said.

"I'm not seeing anyone," she said.

"So then why are you hiding your neck?" I said.

"I can make out with someone without dating them," she said.

"I just don't want you to get hurt," I said. She didn't say anything and grabbed her pager.

"Anything else?" She asked, "there was a literal explosion we don't need to be talking about my love life or lack thereof."

"No sorry," I said. I was worried about her. I was worried she would get hurt. She just got hurt over James and not too long before that it was Ryan. She always got hurt. I wanted to make sure she was alright. And also, as her brother, I need to make sure this man is good enough for her, and there's some questionable characters that work at this hospital. I'm just looking out for my baby sister.

AMELIAS POV

I was beyond exhausted. So many injuries came into the ER. It was one of those days where you love the new cases but also want it to be over towards the end. I walked into the cafeteria to grab a sandwich and saw Maggie sitting at a table. I walked over and sat down with my food.

"Long day?" She asked. I nodded.

"Well you survived your first disaster day at Grey Sloan," she said.

"That is true," I said, "good point." The chair next to me pulled out and Alex sat down.

"You alright?" He asked as he shoved a cheeseburger into his mouth.

"I'm tired," I shrugged.

"She survived her first disaster day let her be," Maggie chuckled.

"Oh that's true," Alex said, "never mind good job."

"Thank you," I chuckled.
