AMELIAS POV

I scrubbed out of surgery and saw Derek walk out of a patient's room.

"Amelia!" He called.

"Yeah?" I turned.

"Why are you avoiding me?" he asked. Yeah, I was avoiding him. I didn't need him to be my father about my relationship. He was honestly getting on my nerves. I know I'm dating Arizona quickly after James, but I'm happy and that's all that matters.

"I'm not," I lied.

"Yes you are," he said.

"What do you want to talk about?" I asked as we walked down the hall.

"I don't think your relationship is a good idea," he said. I stopped walking and looked at him.

"Why?" I asked.

"I think you're moving too fast and you're going to get hurt again," he said.

"You literally said last week that you liked Arizona and our relationship," I said.

"Well that was before I could hear you two last night, you're clearly moving too fast," he said.

"It's an adult relationship I'm allowed to have sex whenever I please," I said.

"I just think you put your guard down too fast," he said.

"I think it's none of your business," I said.

"Amelia," he said, "I am trying to help you."

"I didn't ask for your help!" I yelled at him, "I'm fine! My relationship is fine! And my sex life is none of your fucking business!"

MEREDITHS POV

Derek keeps digging himself a deeper hole. Yes, the entire house could hear Amelia and Arizona having sex last night. Was it awkward? Sure. Was it unexpected? No. We're all adults living in this house and Alex has someone over every other week. I get its weird because Derek and Amelia are siblings, but Derek takes his protective side to the extreme. I was walking down the hallway when I heard Amelia yell at derek.

"And my sex life is none of your fucking business!" Amelia said. I rounded the corner and Amelia almost ran into me.

"Shit I'm sorry," she looked up and realized it was me.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said, "Don't worry about it." I looked up and Derek was already walking in the other direction.

"I hope you know I don't agree with him," I said gently.

"You don't?" Amelia said.

"No. He's a jerk sometimes," I said.

"Tell him to mind his own business," Amelia said and walked away. Great, now I'm in the middle of this.

ARIZONAS POV

Amelia and Derek got into some fight. I'm sure I can guess what that's about. I get he's like overprotective of her, but he takes it too far sometimes. I was looking at scans and taking some notes when the lab door opened. I looked up and it was Derek. I looked back at the computer and he closed the door.

"I need to talk to you," Derek said.

"What?" I said and turned to him.

"I need to know if you're using my sister because if you are you need to stop," Derek said. I instantly felt angry. I care so much about Amelia I think I love her. She makes me feel all these crazy feelings and I don't even know how to express them. For him to even think I'm using her is insulting.

"This conversation is over," I said and grabbed my scans and got up.

"Arizona I'm serious," he said.

"And I'm serious too Derek. You're a jerk sometimes, and I never say it because you and Meredith let me live in your house, but you're a jerk. You're overly controlling and I get that you're trying to protect Amelia, but stop acting like I'm the worst person on the planet for her to date. You love me and then hate me every 3 days and its exhausting. I finally thought you and I were on good terms with this relationship and now you're going to come in here and accuse me of using your sister?" I said.

"I don't think you're the worst person on the planet for her to date," Derek admitted.

"Well then start acting like it," I said, "And stop arguing with me every time you get mad that your sister is an adult and has a life. I don't care that your feelings are hurt that she moved on from her ex quickly. I don't care that it makes you feel like you're losing control over her. Talking about this with you every other week is exhausting."

"You don't know her okay? She rushes into things too quickly and she gets hurts and I'm the one that has to pick her up," He said.

"I don't know her?" I laughed, "This conversation is insulting."

"I'm just saying I don't want to see her get hurt again," Derek said.

"I think you're the only one that's hurting her right now," I said and walked out of the lab.
