DEREKS POV

"What is that supposed to mean?" I said and looked at him.

"What is it some secret?" Alex said, "Act like I didn't say anything."

"No you did say something," I said.

"It was a joke," Alex said.

"He was just trying to be funny," Meredith shrugged. I looked out the back door and Amelia and Arizona were still sitting outside talking.

"I didn't find it funny," I said.

"Derek stop acting like you have a stick up your ass," Meredith said, "Amelia clearly doesn't want to talk about anything to you so stay out of it."

"Does Robbins like my sister?" I asked Alex.

"I mean I don't know," Alex shrugged, "I didn't think it was a secret they were close."

"There's a difference between being close and being together," Maggie said. The back door opened and everyone turned to look and it was Amelia.

"Uh hey," she said, "what's going on?" Arizona followed and I felt annoyed.

"Alex made a dumb joke," Maggie said, "nothing important."

"Alex always makes dumb jokes what's new," Arizona shrugged and walked past Amelia.

"Yeah and Derek was just about to go upstairs right?" Meredith said and shot me a look.

"Why?" I said.

"Because you're going to," Meredith said, "because you're tired and have work in the morning."

AMELIAS POV

The vibes in the kitchen were so fucking weird. Meredith basically kicked Alex and Derek out.

"What the fuck is going on?" I said.

"Well, Alex made a dumb joke, which was dumb, but granted there might be truth to it, we kicked your bother out," Maggie chuckled.

"Your brother cannot handle this conversation," Meredith laughed, "and Arizona has to go too."

"What? Why me?" Arizona protested.

"She can stay I don't care," I said and got up and got water, "Why are you acting so seriously over a joke."

"Well," Meredith said, "Alex made a joke about Arizona liking you and it pissed Derek off. Which Maggie and I have no idea if that's true and it's none of our business if it is but that's what he said and it annoyed your brother."

"Oh it's true," I shrugged.

"Woah woah there," Arizona chuckled, "Don't act like this is one sided."

"I didn't say it was," I chuckled.

"I knew it!" Meredith said.

"Wait so Derek's mad?" I said.

"Derek's mad at the idea of you dating anyone," Meredith said.

"Hey nobody said I was dating her," Arizona laughed and I elbowed her side.

"Yeah so what is going on?" Maggie chuckled. Arizona and I exchanged a glance, waiting for the other one to answer, and then we sat in silence.

"Okay so you're figuring it out fine," Meredith said.

"Yeah," Arizona and I nodded.

"Well good for you," Meredith smiled.

-

Arizona and I walked back upstairs and she closed the door behind us.

"I think your brother might kill me," Arizona laughed.

"God that was painful," I chuckled.

"Sorry if I made it too obvious," she said.

"I don't think you did," I said.

"Well everyone seemed to know," she said.

"Does that bother you?" I asked.

"No, but does it bother you?" she said.

"No," I said.

"Why doesn't Derek know you're gay?" she said.

"I don't know," I shrugged, "I didn't grow up with a mother that would have accepted me. I've never had a serious enough girlfriend for it to have mattered. I've dated girls here and there but nobody I'd want to meet my family."

"So I'm just special because I was living with your brother first," Arizona laughed. I chuckled and nudged her.

"You're special regardless of that," I said.

"Really?" Arizona said. We were sitting on the edge of my bed.

"Yeah," I chuckled, "It's kind of embarrassing. You make me feel all these feelings at all once and sometimes it makes me want to scream because I've never felt this way about anyone and we haven't even gone on a date."

"You make me feel things too Amelia," Arizona said softly, "and who cares if we haven't gone on a date yet. We can do our own thing."

"Yeah?" I smiled.

"Abslutely," she said and leaned in and kissed me. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around her neck and she pulled me into her lap.

"Derek is so going to hate me," Arizona laughed.

"He's so clueless," I said, "Unless Meredith spells it out for him he won't catch on."

"He looked really mad," Arizona said.

"Mad that I found an awesome and amazing woman? He just likes to be angry," I laughed, "Now shut up and kiss me."

-

"Hey," Arizona said softly. I was asleep and I felt Arizona's arms around me.

"I'm sleeping," I groaned as I pulled her head into my chest. Arizona held my waist as she started kissing my neck.

"Arizona," I groaned.

"You have to get up," Arizona said.

"Why?" I complained and opened my eyes.

"You know how you're a surgeon? You've got to go to a hospital and do surgery every now and then. Today's your day," Arizona joked.

"Oh shut up," I said, "Can we still get dinner later?"

"Of course we can," She said, "I'm grabbing you from the hospital and taking us there."

"Sounds good," I said and kissed her forehead.

I was beyond nervous for a date with Arizona. I mean we were basically together, but maybe we weren't? The interaction last night with Meredith and Maggie was awkward, but they were supportive to say the least. I was in the bathroom in the attending's lounge getting ready. I brought a green dress and some makeup. I put the dress on and looked in the mirror. I was making an attempt to not look like I was doing surgery all day - but that might be a lost cause. I covered up my eye bags with makeup and took my hair out of the braid it was in. I felt my phone buzz and it was Arizona. She was here. Shit. I threw on a pair of heels and grabbed my stuff and walked down to the lobby. Arizona got out of the car and I smiled. She looked adorable. She was wearing pants and a nice blouse.

"You look amazing," Arizona said, "Making me feel underdressed."

"You look perfect hun," I said. Arizona wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me in for a kiss. I smiled and grabbed her face and pulled her into me.

"Hey, while I would love to makeout with you in a parking lot like a teenager, we do have a dinner reservation to tend to," Arizona giggled. I smiled as we got in her car and drove over to the restaurant.
