Harin's perspective:
As Luna hurried off to complete her chores, I started to wander in the halls of the palace, I called her many times but she just said she was getting late and I should look for Mr. Jae... Who was bound to assign duties to servants and maids...
I was trying to shake off the awkwardness of the previous night. The grandeur of the place was overwhelming, each corner filled with ornate decorations and echoes of whispered conversations.
I turned a corner, lost in thought, and nearly bumped into someone. I looked up to see a girl with striking features and an air of elegance that immediately made me realize who she was. I remembered her, Luna told me about her.
"Princess Jiseul," I blurted out, startled.
She regarded me with a raised eyebrow, her gaze was clearly assessing and curious.
"And you are...?" she asked while examining me up and down,
I froze, caught off guard. "Um, I'm Harin," I managed to say but my heart was racing abnormally, "I'm a maid here."
Her expression softened slightly, but there was still a flicker of suspicion in her eyes. "Harin," she repeated, as if was testing the name on her tongue. "What brings you to this part of the palace?"
"I was just... umm, finding Mr. Jae" I stammered, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks.
The princess studied me for a moment, her gaze was piercing but not unkind. "Mr. Jae? In the prince's reserved area?? why are you being so suspicious!?"
"I didn't mean to come here, umm... actually, I was lost in thoughts, so...." I rushed to explain, my words tumbling out. "I-I didn't know when I came h-here, I'm sorry. "
"Getting lost in thoughts can be dangerous my dear, especially when you know you are not familiar with anyone" she said, her voice firm but laced with concern. "And you should be careful around my brother. He's not someone to take lightly."
"I understand," I replied, trying to maintain eye contact, while my mind was now a mess again with the thoughts of prince, the weight of her words settled over me. "I'll be cautious." She smiled at me and then looked behind me.
"Oh! there is Mr. Jae" She stated at looked back at me, "Go, and be careful" I smiled at her while she walked towards Mr. Jae,
'So humble unlike her brother' I whispered to myself, staring at her figure, she was discussing something with Mr. Jae. After she left, not forgetting to smile at me once again, Mr. Jae came towards me.
'Are you out of your mind!?' He whispered yelled at me, I flinched on his sudden outburst.
'What?' I asked while looking at him cluelessly.
Mr. Jae's grabbed my arm, his grip was firm as he hurriedly dragged me away from the particular area, his expression were a mixture of frustration and panic.
"Do you even realize the trouble you could have caused?" he hissed, his voice low but intense. "If Prince Taehyung had seen you— he could have buried you alive... (he looked here and there before focusing on me again) For god's sake, you were talking casually with Princess in Prince Taehyung's reserved area...!? you'd be in more danger than you can imagine!"
I sighed on his warning even though my mind was racing. The image of Prince Taehyung's cold eyes flashed before me, all the flashbacks from last night were again lingering in my mind, I could feel a chill run down my spine. well! but the castle in my era seemed to be contracted as compared to this one, because things I was seeing here were not in my time.
