Taehyung sat in his chamber, his mind was tangled in a mix of frustration and sorrow as he replayed the events from the previous day. Jimin was on the couch across from him, listening with a calm but attentive expression.
"She agreed to it, Jimin. She said she'd marry Daewoon," Taehyung said, his voice tight, almost disbelieving. "It's like she's giving up a part of herself... just to keep the peace."
Jimin felt a dull ache at the news, but he pushed it down, masking his sadness with a supportive nod. "She's strong, Taehyung. Maybe she feels this is the best path."
Taehyung's gaze hardened. "But is it? It's like... like I'm losing her, piece by piece."
Before Jimin could respond, a light knock interrupted them. Taehyung allowed the visitor to enter, and Inho stepped in, his face was carrying news.
"Prince Taehyung," Inho announced with a hint of surprise in his voice, "Prince Jong Gyu has regained consciousness. He's asked for you."
Taehyung's eyes widened, a flicker of relief and astonishment was breaking through his earlier frustration. "Jong Gyu... he's awake?"
Inho nodded. "Yes, Your Highness. He's waiting."

Taehyung entered the dimly lit room with Jimin at his side, his heart was heavy with mixed emotions. As they approached Jong Gyu's bed, Taehyung noticed Mr. Han leaning over his brother, carefully checking his pulse and murmuring reassuringly to him.
"Prince Taehyung," Mr. Han greeted with a soft smile, straightening up. "It's truly a miracle—Prince Jong Gyu gained consciousness. He'll need rest, but he's improving."
Taehyung felt a wave of relief wash over him, though it was laced with unease. He wanted to confide in Jong Gyu, to explain everything that had transpired—the threats, Jiseul's forced acceptance of the marriage, and the king's harsh ultimatum. But just as he opened his mouth to speak, Jiseul entered the room.
Her expressions softened when she saw Jong Gyu, and she hurried over to him, barely noticing Taehyung and Jimin by her side. She reached out, gently brushing Jong Gyu's hand as she looked to Mr. Han. "Has there been any improvement?"
Mr. Han nodded. "Yes, Princess. He should avoid any stress or heavy tasks for now, but his condition is stabilizing. With proper care, he could make a full recovery."
Jiseul exhaled, relief was evident on her face. "Thank you, Mr. Han. Thank you so much" She offered Jong Gyu a comforting smile, though her own gaze seemed troubled.
She took a breath, composing herself, and forced a smile. "I wanted to tell you... I've agreed to marry Daewoon. Willingly." Her voice was steady, but Taehyung could see the tension beneath her calm facade.
Taehyung's heart sank. He knew her too well; her tone was too controlled, her words were too carefully chosen. She was hiding the truth—that the decision hadn't been hers, that the king had threatened Taehyung's life to coerce her into agreeing.
Beside him, Jimin lowered his head, disappointment was flashing across his face as he absorbed Jiseul's words. The weight of the king's actions were boring down on him, a silent anger was simmering beneath his otherwise calm exterior.
Taehyung swallowed hard, his throat was tight with a mixture of sadness and anger. He took a step forward, his voice was soft yet resolute. "Jiseul..."
