King stood on the balcony, the city lights twinkling below him like stars fallen to Earth. He raked a hand through his dark hair, feeling the weight of uncertainty pressing down on him. Just then, Uea appeared at the doorway, his silhouette framed by the warm glow of the room.

"King? You alright?" Uea asked, stepping outside. His voice was soft, but there was an undercurrent of concern that made King's heart flutter.

"Do I tell you I feel hopeless," King murmured, leaning against the railing, "Do I tell you that I'm scared?"

Uea moved closer, his eyes searching King's. "What's going on? You can talk to me, you know that."

King took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "Do I ask you for some clarity and say that this isn't fair? This...this thing between us. I don't know where it's going."

Uea shifted, the breeze catching the loose strands of his hair. "You mean what we are?" His voice was steady, but King could see the shadow of doubt flicker in his eyes.

"Yes!" King's voice rose in frustration. "One moment we're laughing and everything feels right. Then the next, I'm terrified that I'm just a phase for you."

"King," Uea said softly, stepping even closer, "you're not just a phase. You mean more to me than you realize."

King looked into Uea's eyes, searching for truth. "Then why does it feel like we're standing at the edge of something big and I'm too scared to jump?"

Uea reached out, gently gripping King's hand. "Because taking that leap is hard. But you don't have to do it alone. We're in this together."

"But what if-" King started, but Uea cut him off.

"What ifs are the worst part," Uea said, squeezing King's hand tighter. "What if we focus on the 'right nows' instead? Right now, we're here, together."

King felt a swell of courage as he searched Uea's gaze. "Right now, I can't imagine my life without you."

Uea smiled, a mixture of relief and affection flooding his features. "Then let's take it one step at a time. No fears-just us."

King returned the smile, his heart lightening. "Alright, one step at a time."

Uea nodded, and after a moment's pause, leaned in, pressing his forehead against King's. "We'll figure this out together."

And for the first time in what felt like forever, King felt a flicker of hope.

He let out a shaky breath, the tension in his shoulders slowly dissipating. "I've been so caught up in the future," he admitted, "that I've forgotten to just enjoy being here with you."

Uea chuckled softly, his warm breath brushing against King's skin. "It's easy to lose sight of the now when the future feels so overwhelming. But that's why we have to remind each other."

"Right," King said, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Present, not perfect."

"Exactly," Uea replied, pulling back slightly to meet King's gaze. "Let's just focus on what we have and where we are today. Tomorrow will take care of itself."

King nodded, heart racing with a mix of apprehension and excitement. "You always know what to say."

"It's a team effort," Uea said, his smile brightening the night. "We're in this together, remember?"

King squeezed Uea's hand in response, feeling the warmth radiate between them. The city below pulsed with life, but all that mattered was this moment, shared under the expansive, starry sky.

"Tell me something," Uea said, his voice softening, "What do you want right now?"

King hesitated, caught between countless desires-an urge to seek adventure, to lay bare unspoken thoughts, to bridge the gap between the fear and the love that spiraled within him. "I want to feel... alive," he eventually said, his voice almost a whisper. "I want to know what it's like to dive deep and not just skim the surface."
