"I want to know you, I want to love you, I want to be yours and for you to be mine, I want a lot of things but I do not dare to ask for it as I'm not much of a person who deserves anything at all."
Win looked up from his half-eaten sandwich, his eyes meeting Team's with a mix of surprise and curiosity. Team had always been the strong one, the one who didn't need to voice his fears. But here he was, spilling his heart out like it was the most natural thing in the world. Win felt a warmth spread through his chest, and his hand paused mid-air.
"What brought this on, Team?" Win asked, setting the sandwich down. His voice was softer than usual, the edge of defensiveness gone. Team took a deep breath, his eyes searching the room as if the words were painted on the wall.
"It's just...I see how you look at me, and I know you're holding back. I've felt it for a while now, and I can't ignore it anymore. I need to know if there's something more between us, or if I'm just fooling myself."
The room seemed to shrink around them, the air thick with unspoken tension. Win's heart raced, and he could feel his palms sweating. This was it, the moment he had both feared and hoped for. He took a deep breath and leaned in, his eyes locked on Team's.
"You're not fooling yourself, Team," Win said, his voice steady. "I've felt it too. I just didn't know how to tell you without messing up what we have."
Team's gaze never wavered, and for a moment, they were the only two people in the world. Then Team spoke again, his voice a little shaky. "What do you feel, Hia?"
Win's heart skipped a beat at the nickname. It was an endearment Team had used since they were kids, a reminder of a bond that went deeper than friendship. He took Team's hand in his, feeling the warmth and strength of it.
"I love you, Team," he said simply, the words tumbling out of him like they had been waiting all along.
Team's eyes widened, and for a split second, Win thought he had made a mistake. But then Team's hand tightened around his, and a smile spread across his face.
"I love you too, Win," Team said, and the relief in his voice was palpable. They sat there, holding hands, the silence between them filled with more meaning than any words could have conveyed.
Their friendship had been a fortress, strong and unyielding, a shelter from the storms of life. But now, as they admitted their love, it grew into something more. A bridge over the chasm of doubt and fear that had separated them for so long.
"We've always had each other's backs, but now we're more than just friends," Team murmured, leaning closer.
Win nodded, feeling his heart swell with happiness. "Yes," he said, "we're more than friends. We're everything to each other."
And with that, they kissed, their lips meeting in a soft, tentative press that grew into something more passionate. It was a kiss filled with the promise of a future together, a future where they didn't have to hide their feelings anymore.
As they pulled away, breathless, they both knew that their lives had changed forever. The argument that had brought them to this moment was forgotten, replaced by the sweetness of their confession.
They leaned into each other, their foreheads touching, and just breathed. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, everything felt right. They had found the courage to tell the truth, and now they could finally explore the love that had been growing between them, unspoken and unacknowledged, for so long.
The world outside their bubble was a blur of noise and color, but inside, it was just them. Two hearts beating as one, ready to face whatever came next, hand in hand.
