With a final glance, Q flung open the door and raced outside into the chilling night. The air was sharp, but it felt liberating against his skin. He could hear Min calling after him, his voice breaking, and for a moment, Q stopped.
The flickering emotions coursed through him—fear, anger, guilt. He realized he had taken a part of Min's heart with him, but he had to reclaim his own.
"Q!" Min shouted, desperation in his voice. "Don't do this!"
But Q had to run; he had to escape. He fumbled for his phone in his pocket, dialing the police as he sprinted away. Heart thumping, he willed himself not to look back. He needed to survive.
