Camryn woke up in a cold sweat only a few hours later. All her friends were still asleep so she decided to go for a walk. As soon as everyone wakes up they'll be all over her asking her questions.

A garden encircled the castle. Camryn was able to see part of it when they arrived at the castle yesterday. With her head held high, she walked past the guards. One looked to the other but they did nothing to stop her. Good, she just wanted to be left alone. Even in her torn and wrinkly clothing Camryn's dress was still modest. The middle was torn away and covered in blood but it was good enough for now. Camryn glanced around her. Tall bushes blocked her from view. The sun was just peaking over the tops. Camryn smiled as the warmth of the sun reached her face. The warm glow instantly filled her with life. She ran her hand down her stomach. How did she survive? She didn't know. It was so close. Maybe everything they've gone through will show how much she and Ransom have changed. Maybe some of the other royal families would grow to trust them. Flowers grew along the paved path through the garden. Camryn wasn't the type of girl who liked flowers but they were very enchanting to look at in the golden sunlight. Red roses, white lilies, and all sorts of other flowers that Camryn had never heard of lay in pasterns before her. In the Land of Evil, things like this never grow. Flowers that ate people or trees that had leaves as sharp as a blade were common but most people didn't sit around looking at them. Then just as a bee flew by her nose an idea came to Camryn. She should ask her mother about Ransom being the long-lost son of the Harts and about the Huntsman.

The bench Camryn sat down on was made of marble. Dark strips were swirled into the white. Birds chirped in the trees and bushes above her. Even with all these wonderful things around her Camryn had her mother on her mind. Luckily Camryn always carried a small shiny mirror with her. She kept a lot of random stuff for such occasions as this. The mirror had a small black frame and a scratch across the top of it. Camryn hadn't used the mirror to communicate with anyone in a long time. She hoped she could still remember how. Rubbing the warn edges between her fingers she stared right into it. Dark swirls started to mix in the glass of the mirror. Camryn just stared harder. Past the shiny reflection of her face was the reflection of the mother who she still wished loved her.

The woman on the other side of the mirror frowned at her. "Camryn. How nice of you to come to chat."

"Hello, Mother." To see her mother's cloaked face made Camryn mad. She had not expected to feel like this toward her. She had sent people to hurt her and Ransom. All the things that they had to go through were because of her.

Her mother smiled evilly at her daughter. "Camryn I see you've been fighting for the wrong side."

Who did she think she was?

"I can fight for whatever side I want to. You sent people to attack us and the royal families last night. I almost died." It finally came to Camryn that her mother truly didn't care about her. She might never have.

"So! You and your little princess friends stopped him. The Evil Queen was very annoyed when she found out but had more pressing matters to attend to. She's gotten a lot less interesting since Ransom gave her that apple." The Enchantress looked away from her mirror for a moment. Camryn saw that she was at her castle.

"Mother." Camryn cringed when she called her that. Shaking the feeling off she continued. "I got hurt so bad. Everyone thought that I was going to die. Do you even care?" There it was out. "And why did the Evil Queen kidnap Ransom from Queen Ebony?"

The Enchantress's smile disappeared. "My girl you have been through so much. Join me and I will forgive all your faults. We can all rule the whole land together."

"Tell me. Why don't you care? Why was Ransom Kidnapped?"

"Join me, my daughter. No one there will love you forever. They'll use you then toss you away."
