All Might had completely fallen, leaving Endeavor as the Number One Hero, and he was absolutely livid. Though right now, he was in the hospital, recovering from multiple severe burns.
The triumphs of that day were more than just bittersweet. All For One had been captured, Bakugou had been saved, and [L/n] had been retrieved. But at what cost? All Might had fallen, Endeavor was in brutal shape, and Lightbringer, while receiving care, was in a facility that kept her from using her Quirks while analyzing every part of her mind and body. She was as restrained, if not more-so, than some of the worst Villains. UA's students now lived in dorms, as well as the teachers, and the worlds ever-judging eyes were scrutinizing them at every breath.
How the hell did they let this happen, especially to the children?
Aizawa sat in his room, combing his fingers through his hair. Useless, absolutely useless. His mental hadn't been the greatest since the incident, and people knew it. He was able to hide it for the most part behind his consistently stoic face, but those close to him knew, his students knew. Just as he was about to light a cigarette, an accursed habit he had no plans on showing anybody, a knock came to his door. He looked to the alarm clock on his bedside table, one that read: 21:30.
His voice came out as gruffy as ever, "Who is it?"
"Open up, Sensei." The voice belonged to none other than Katsuki Bakugou himself. A student's name that's been plastered across the internet for his kidnapping and battle with Lightbringer. Aizawa, albeit somewhat reluctantly, walked up to his door and opened it, letting the student in. Bakugou walked in, in casual sleepwear of black sweatpants and a tshirt, very similar to what Aizawa himself bore at the moment. While the Sensei closed the door and went to sit on his couch, Bakugou sitting a reasonable distance away from him, holding his palm out and upwards and used small sparks to light the cigarette Aizawa only just realized he didn't put away.
There was nothing but silence, other than the sounds of their breathing and puffs Aizawa took off his cigarette.
Only after was seemed to be quite a few minutes, did one of them speak, that of which being Aizawa, "How are you holding up?"
"Shittily." Bakugou answered immediately, truthfully. "You?"
"Shittily." The Sensei mentally cursed himself, because he is that, a Sensei. He shouldn't be showing his own weakness to his student, rather he should be supporting him, aiding him. How far have I fallen?
The battle once again flashed through Aizawa's eyes, something that happened frequently. Bakugou's struggles against [L/n] [F/n], and then her battle against Todoroki Enji. And what did he do? Nothing. Upon his arrival, he found himself unable to move. Fear.
I've put my life on the line countless times, and yet in that moment, I feared more for my life than I ever had. Death has never scared me, and yet in that moment, it did. [L/n] [F/n] could kill me in an instant. And I... I was afraid of her.
"Yo, Sensei." The young boys voice snapped him from his thoughts, a hand also being waved in front of his face.
"There wasn't anything you could've done." Bakugou spoke once again, a phrase that he should've listened to himself, but his time for mental rectification was not now, though soon to come. It was strange, hearing these sorts of words coming from his mouth, even more so for them to be directed to Eraserhead himself.
"And yet he did." There was a pause. "The most dickhead Hero known to man, did more for her in that moment than I ever could've."
A chuckle.
Aizawa realized in that moment what he'd just said, words that were extremely inappropriate to say in front of a student.
Bakugou realized he was about to take back what he said, and shook his head, "Yeah, the most dickhead Hero sure did show you up, huh Sensei?"
