Lightbringer had fallen asleep on the couch, more drained than she thought she'd be for someone who'd done nothing but be still for the past nearly two weeks.
Aizawa returned home and felt his heart skip a beat at the sight before him. There she was, curled up on the couch and accompanied by a sleeping cat. He wanted to wake her up, talk to her, anything. Gods how he missed her. He refrained from doing so however, as he didn't want to disturb her rest. Quietly making his way through the living room space, he made his way towards the bathroom to take a shower.
His mind was running rampant. How would this pan out? What would they do? What the hell was he supposed to do? And by the gods, how would he handle the throbbing in his chest every time he laid eyes on her?
Aizawa's shower lasted much longer than usual as he used the hot water running down his body as a relaxing coping mechanism. It soothed his mildly tense muscles and brought him at least some calm to the storm in his head. After nearly thirty minutes, the man stepped out of the shower and dried off, then wrapping a towel around his waist. Assuming that [L/n] was still asleep on the couch, he left the bathroom with confidence that he wouldn't be spotted in his current state.
Because while she'd seen him this unclothed, and naked, she didn't remember that. She didn't even know what their relationship status was. And even if she did know what they were, it wouldn't change the fact she doesn't actively remember a thing.
He entered his bedroom and looked around for some clothes to sleep in. That room in particular had become a bit of a mess within the short time he'd been living there, as it reflected the status of his mind. While he'd managed to keep the rest of his dorm-that's-larger-than-a-typical-dorm clean, the bedroom was a bit messy and unorganized.
"Hey, I—" [L/n] cut herself off at the sight before her: a nude Aizawa with nothing covering him but a dark gray towel wrapped loosely around his waist. She'd woken up only moments ago and had heard movement and wanted to approach him and thank him for being okay with her staying with him, despite what all was going on.
He froze in place as his head turned to face the [h/c] haired woman standing in his bedroom doorway, arms fallen to her sides in surprise, cheeks a deep shade of red.
"I— I am so sorry, I just—" She cursed herself for fumbling over her words. Why oh why am I like this right now!? We're grown adults and it's not like I'm seeing anything too rash... but fuck he's hot.
"Hey, no need to apologize." Aizawa managed to speak up after a few long moments, turning fully to face her properly. "It's me, I should have closed the bedroom door." He watched as her eyes had just now averted and he wondered what was going on in her mind. What he would give to the existing higher power for that knowledge at this very moment.
For [L/n], this moment rocked her world — which wasn't much, considering her lack of memory — but still. There was an undeniable feeling of heat she felt, and not just on her face. Clearing her throat and scratching the back of her neck, she finally managed to speak again, "I still shouldn't have just walked in without announcing myself or even knocking on the outer wall. I apologize, I'll just wait in the living room for uh, when you're dressed." She looked back to him and gave him a smile — a smile Aizawa missed seeing — before excusing herself and going back to the living room.
He got dressed as quickly as he could after that, in a simple t-shirt and sweatpants, both fittingly black. Arriving in his living room, he saw [L/n] sitting on the couch and twiddling her thumbs, her cheeks still rather tinted. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He found himself not quite knowing what to say.
"Thank you," [L/n] spoke softly after a few moments of silence. She stood up to face him properly and bowed ever so slightly. "You've welcomed me to stay in your home, I appreciate it greatly."
