{Courfeyrac}
"Courfeyrac? Do y'know why Gabrielle ran from the café today?" Gavroche asked.
"No," I lied. I hated lying to anyone, but Gavroche especially. I had promised Gabrielle I wouldn't tell anyone though.
"Maybe she doesn't like him. Maybe she hates him," Gavroche said.
"Hates who Gav?" I ask. I was a little confused.
"Enjolras," he replied.
"I think she might," I admitted truthfully. "But in her defense he did come into the café just a bit worse than normal."
"Gabrielle's pretty," Gavroche said.
"She's beautiful," I say before I realize it. I stop automatically, and Gavroche turns towards me.
"You like Gabrielle?" he asks me. He said it accusingly.
"Yes," I admitted. I had just lied to him and I wasn't planning on doing it again any time soon.
"Me too! I think she likes me better though. Every time she looks at you her face turns red," he said.
"Gavroche you're too young for her you understand right?" I ask. I wanted to make sure he understood that.
"Y'know she's a Saint Michele kid. That man isn't her father. He had adopted her and Cosette when they were nine. Cosette was basically a household slave at my parent's Inn, and Gabrielle was livin' on the streets alone! Like me!" he said. He was ignoring the fact that she was around ten years older than him. He also said it happily. That he and Gabrielle live or lived on the streets.
"Y'know you live at my apartment now right?" I asked him.
"Yes," he replied. "Oh! I'm like Gabrielle, you're like her father, and Marius is Cosette!" he shouted happily. I could actually agree with him on that. It made sense.
"Come on, they'll be wondering where we've been," I said to him.
We quickly walked inside the café and ran up the stairs.
We got there and saw that only a few of the gents were here tonight. I saw Grantaire, Combeferre, Marius, and Enjolras all at a table. Éponine wasn't there for once.
"Where 'Ponine?" Gavroche asked immediately.
"Oh she's with your parents for a bit. Don't worry," Marius said. Enjolras looked at me and I immediately understood. She was either out with her father and his gang stealing or at the docks. I wasn't exactly sure which was worse.
"Are we the only ones here tonight?" I questioned. I thought we'd have more people as usual.
"Yes. Courfeyrac can I talk to you?" Enjolras asked.
"Oooooh! Someone's in trouble!" Grantaire drunkenly teased.
"Of course," I replied.
Enjolras led me out of the room and onto the street. He didn't want the others to hear I guessed.
"Enjolras? What is it?" I asked him.
"Do you know who the girl was? The girl Gavroche brought?" he asked. I didn't know if he wanted to know if I knew that she knew him, or if he wanted to be sure he knew her himself.
"Her name is Gabrielle," I replied.
"Where is she from?" he asked not looking at me.
"Gavroche said she told him she was from Saint Michele," I gave a hint of laughter, "He said that's how they're so alike cause..."
