I take a deep breath as I stare into the mirror. "You can do this. You're a strong, and smart woman. You can do anything." I finish my pep talk and check my bag one last time, just to ensure that I'm not forgetting anything. I'm not.

I give myself a curt nod through the mirror and walk out confidently. However by the time I reach the front door, all my confidence is gone. Mainly because Rex is there, sleeping on the couch, in nothing but his sweatpants. God he's scary even when he's asleep. But also smoking hot. And right next to him, in his arms, is my brother, also in his sweatpants. I did not need to see this right before class.

My brother's gay, and so is his friend. But he never came out. Why? Is he scared? My mind thinks of every possible problem and scenario as I stare at them. This is not how I wanted to start the morning. I shake my head, trying to get these thoughts out of mind. I quickly walk out of the door and hop into my car. I'm leaving this place as soon as possible. I don't need to know what those two do behind closed doors. And if I continue living here, I'll definitely catch them doing stuff and nobody wants that.

As I drive to my campus, all I can think about is what I saw. "No. No thinking about your brother and his friend." I whisper to myself as I walk along the hallway trying to find my class. But I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't notice someone standing right in the middle of my way and bumped into them. "Oh god, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"

The dude just laughed. "It's cute that you think you can hurt someone."

"Um excuse me?"

He nods. "I'm Oliver." He shakes my hand a little too enthusiastically. "And you are?"

I nervously fix my glasses. "Lily."

"Freshman?"

"Yeah."

"Cool, me too. What's your major?"

"Astrophysics."

Oliver gasped. "No way! Me too."

I giggle at his dramatic reaction.

"Come on I'll introduce you to my friends. So you live on campus?" He then drags me towards the classroom.

"No, I live with my brother. It's a fifteen minutes drive."

"Oh cool. I live on campus and I met some others last night at a party. I'll introduce you to them." He drags me to a group of people. He greeted everyone with such enthusiasm that it made my ears hurt. "And this is Lily."

I took that as my cue to say something. "Hi." I'm not good with people. But they didn't seem to mind, everyone just greeted me back and introduced themselves. But soon the professor came in and we had to settle down, and Oliver took me to sit next to him.

After what felt like years, the class ended and Oliver asked me if I had any other class next. I did, he didn't. He was pretty bummed, so we exchanged phone numbers and Instagram IDs as he walked me to my class.

"Hey, how was first day," I was greeted by Aiden's horrible smell and voice as soon as I entered out apartment.

I scrunched my nose. "It was good, but why do you smell so bad?"

"I came home straight from practice, and Rex beat me to the shower, so," he shrugged, sipping his soda. "I really need to get ready, there's a party that I do not want to miss."

One downside of this apartment, only one bathroom. I tilt my head. "Oh so you won't be here tonight?"

"No. And Rex is coming too so, you'll be fine alone, right?"

I nod, "yeah of course. I'll just do my homework."

"Homework," he looked so disgusted. "On first day? Your teachers sound like monsters."

I laugh softly and that's when Rex comes out if the bathroom wrapped in just a towel. I blush seeing his attractive physique. Football did him good. But why is he naked? Did he forget that a girl lives with them now? Shameless. Oh no wait, he doesn't care because he's gay!

About an hour and a half later, the boys leave. But not before Aiden gave me a bunch of instructions on how to survive the night alone.

Finally, I'm free. I bring my laptop, notes, pens and some other stuff and decide to do my homework on the kitchen counter. I like the kitchen because of how light and breezy it is. The huge windows allow me to look down on everyone on the street, which is super fun.
