After tossing and turning the whole night in excitement, I jump out of my bed at five. It's Christmas!
I run out of my room and towards Ryan's. But he's smart. He locked the door. So I try the door next to his. Just as I thought, Aiden the idiot didn't lock his door. I barge into the room and jump on his bed, landing on his body instead. But it doesn't bother him, judging by the way he's still asleep. So I opt to shake him. But once again, he doesn't budge. This time I get a glass of cold water and dump it on his face. That wakes him up. But not quietly like I'd hoped. He screeches, "Cold!"
I giggle. But the I shrike because he catches me, throwing me on his bed and starts tickling me. "No! Stop!" I wheeze between fits of laughter. I kept squealing and struggling but he didn't care. Until Ryan's door opened and he came out with a scowl.
"Shut it, you two." Okay, he sounds very scary. And Aiden must've thought so too because he immediately stopped.
"Merry Christmas, Ryan," I greeted him with a sweet smile and big eyes. And he melted.
"Merry Christmas, baby."
"Merry Christmas bro," Aiden was going to slap his shoulder but Ryan moved away with a scowl. He walked out of the room and slammed the door on his way out making both Aiden and I jump. "What's got his panties in a bunch?"
I gave Aiden a disgusted look and get put of his room. Too much time with him will make me into another Aiden.

"Presents!"
Both Aiden and I jumped into the pile of wrapped presents, making the other three responsible adults shake their head and chuckle at us.
Soon we've opened all of our presents. I got a telescope from dad, some pretty lipglosses and lipsticks from mom, a pair of pajamas from Ryan, who apologized for giving the same thing to everyone saying he was busy, and finally just some socks, ugly socks, from Aiden. "Thank you, everyone. I love these." Then I face Aiden with a scowl. "I hated your gift."
He just rolled his eyes. "Well then, maybe next time, tell me what to get you, your highness."
"Mom! Aiden's teasing me."
"Mom, Lily's being a brat."
And I lunged at him but I don't think I did much damage because he laughed every time I punched him. Stupid.
"But, Rex got me a pair of shades this year. We just used to exchange socks, you know," Aiden drawled. "Where did he get good gift ideas? Now I feel bad for giving him yellow socks."
I bite my lips shyly, I helped him shop for gifts. But I can't obviously tell my family that, can I? Or they'll think there's something going on between us. But in reality we're just a couple of awkward friends.
Mr and Mrs Montgomery give us presents every year. This year Mrs Montgomery gave us all some sweaters and Mr Montgomery arranged a vacation in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming for three days right after New Year's, like every year.

"Lily, dear, please go give this to Mrs Montgomery." Mom hands me a chocolate cake. She bakes two cakes on Christmas every year. A chocolate cake for the Montgomerys and a carrot cake for us, which I do not like. So Mrs Montgomery always sneaks me some of their cake. "Oh and Lily, remind them that dinner's at ours tonight."
