Drunk

I huff in annoyance when the bell rings. Who could that be? Both Aiden and Rex went to a party, they go to so many of those, so it can't be either of them. Besides they both have keys. I get up from my place on the kitchen counter and open the door. It's Rex. Drunk Rex.

"Hey, Lily-" hiccup "-mind if I come in," he asks with a cute smile.

"This is your home, Rex." I step away from the door to let his huge body in. I start going towards the kitchen again as he locks the door. But he stops me by wrapping his arms around me from the back and picking me up.

"Hey, put me down." I kick my legs and flail my arms but that doesn't deter him. He carries me go the living room and sits down with me on his lap.

He places his forehead on mine, making my breath hitch. "You're cute."

I try not to focus on his captivating eyes. Instead I try to break free. "Let me go, Rex."

He shakes his head with a pout. "No," he whines placing his head on my shoulder. "I like how soft you are."

Soft? Is that a compliment? Or is he calling me fat? "Thanks, I guess?"

He gives me another lazy smile. Boy, is drunk Rex happy. "So do you have any friends, Lily baby?"

I blink. Lily baby? "Uh, yeah. Two."

He gasps in surprise. "Two! That's one more than I have."

I pinch my brows with a questioning smile. "But you have so many friends."

"No," he pouts. "They're teammates, or classmates or weirdos. I don't have any real friends, except Aiden. Hey, Aiden's your brother!"

Did he just figure that out? "Yes, Aiden is my brother," I reply as I squirm to be free but just holds me tightly.

"So, if you become my friend then I'll be friends with all the Thompson siblings."

I shake my head with a breathy laugh. "You're friends with Ryan?"

He pinches his brows together and scrunches up his nose. Adorable. "No. But I think he likes me." He looks so confident while saying that. It's like watching a toddler.

"Oh? How are you so sure?"

"Last time he told me good game," Rex answers with a toothy grin.

"Oh yeah, that definitely mean he likes you." I nod and pat his shoulder.

"Yeah." He has a dreamy look in his eyes as he stares at me. "So will you be my friend?"

I blink in surprise. "Sure." It's not like you'll remember it tomorrow.

"Yes," he pumps his fist in the air, and proceeds to lie down on the couch with me on top of him. "Now I'm sleepy."

I try to get up but he's strong even when he's drunk. "Uh- Rex, buddy, maybe let me go first?"

He whines. "No, you're soft."

Now I'm worried that Aiden will walk in and see us. He'll kill me. "Why don't you go sleep on your bed? That's more comfortable, right," I suggest pointing to his feet that hangs out of the couch.

Rex thinks for a moment before nodding. Now when he puts me down I'll just run to my room and lock the door. But he doesn't, he just gets up with me still in his arms. He's carrying me like a teddy bear. "Rex, let me go."

"But you said we're friends!" Damn his eyes. At this rate I'm going to be so much in love that I'll be licking the ground he walks on.

"Friends don't carry each other, Rex." Does he really not have many friends? Because he seriously lacks the boundaries.

"But I want to carry you," he pouts and stomps his feet like a petulant child. And before I can say something smart in protest, he carries me to his room and dumps the both of us on his bed.

And now he's trying to kill me. "Rex," I wheeze. "Can't breathe." I smack his shoulder a couple of times before the message finally gets through to him. He finally stops trying to murder me and flips us, so now I'm on top of him.

I struggle for hours, actually two minutes, before I give in to the comfort of his warm arms and fall asleep. And the last thing on my mind before I fall asleep is that I'm in deep trouble.

The next morning I wake up feeling hot. Too hot. And why's the bed so hard? I grimace as I open my eyes, the sunlight hitting me right in the face. This isn't my room. But before I can panic too hard I notice Rex. Oh right, he forced me to sleep with him. That sounded bad.

"Good morning," Rex greets in his deep husky morning voice and I feel a shiver run down my spine. The good shiver.

"Morning," I of course croak out in my creaky morning voice that hurts my own ears. Is he just going to keep holding me like this?

"Listen, last night, I -" I stop him. I know what he's going to say. "I know, you were drunk. Not thinking straight. It's fine." I try to get up but he pull me back down on him.

"No I was saying that, I meant it. Last night," he clears his beautiful throat and that sounds sends another jolt of pleasure through me. "I really do want to be friends."

This is new. "Oh. Uh- ok, yeah sure, whatever." I cringe at my own response. What am I saying?

"Great." Oh he didn't notice any weirdness, good.

I nod. "So," I trail off awkwardly. I don't know where I'm going with this.

"I'll just go shower."

"Yeah, good idea, you stink." What? I should not have said that.

But Rex just laughed, causing his chest to rumble against me. Then he finally let me go. I watched with a smile from his bed as be walked out.

Am I falling in love again?
