I groan into the girl's mouth. She definitely knows what she's doing. "Wanna take this somewhere private," she whispers against my lips and I nod.

We make our way around the sweaty bodies of partying college students to find a bedroom upstairs. And while walking I make sure to check my pockets for condoms, which I do have.

"Hey, man, you're up early." I am greeted by Aiden's fucking cheery voice as I enter the kitchen.

"Shut up," I grumble, rummaging through the fridge to find some water. I take the bottle and gulp it down.

"So," Aiden starts again, his hips resting against the kitchen counter. Fucking bitch thinks he's a model. "Had a great night?"

I scowled. No, I did not have a great night, Aiden. Because I moaned your sister's name during sex. "It was okay."
What am I doing? I'm clearly attracted to Lily, and not just attracted, I'm in love with Lily. But I'm going around fucking random chicks. Is this how I want to live my life. By throwing away my one shot at true love? The answer is no. But the bigger problem is Lily doesn't like me. Up until a few months ago, she hated me. And now that we're friends, she tolerates me.

Besides, even if she did like me back, I don't deserve someone as pure and innocent as Lily. She deserves someone better. Someone who is like her, pure and unproblematic. Being with me will only suck her light away. And I realized that in my senior year of highschool when I caught her skulking because of her friend. I don't know the whole story but after her fallout with her friend, Emily or Emma, whatever her name was, Lily was always sad. She would just mope around, not paying attention to anything. Even her grades were affected. That was for the first time in her life Lily Thompson got an A- and that crushed her even more.

I can only imagine what would happen to her if we ever dated and it didn't work out. Not that I think it wouldn't though, because I believe she's made just for me. One look at her oversized doe shaped eyes and I'm done for. I'd do anything she asks if she gives me those looks. But that doesn't mean she'd be happy with me. So, for her happiness, I must stay away. Even if it kills me.

I am rudely brought out of my deep thoughts by Aiden's hand coming down to smack my shoulder. "What're you thinking about, man?"

I roll my eyes at him. "Nothing important."

He shrugs because he doesn't care. That's what I love about our friendship. We don't talk about feelings and shit. "Ready for the game?"

I breathe out through my mouth. "Yeah, we're gonna crush those beavers like bugs."

"Yeah, they don't stand a chance." Aiden flipped his distorted pancake, only to reveal a completely black and charred side. "I give up." He throws the spatula on the pan and sits on the counter. "Lily, get in here."

Lily enters a moment later, looking angelic as ever. She's wearing a pair of black leggings and her petite frame is drowning in the huge hoodie that she definitely stole from Aiden. Her hair is pulled up in a messy bun, her glasses perched on her nose and ink smudged on her cheek.

"Were you studying," Aiden's face is a mask of pure disgust. "Anyways, can you please make some breakfast for us?"

Lily frowns, which makes her look absolutely adorable, like a chipmunk. Her lips pucker up into a tiny pout, the tip of her nose scrunched up and her brows pinched together. A literal angel. "Why can't you do it?" And her voice. It's like an angel singing. Her voice is so soothing and it's always so sweet, even when she tries to sound mad.

Aiden gets up from his spot and drapes his arm around her shoulder. "Because, sister, we have a game tonight and we're stressed. Look, Rex even burned the pancake."

Wait, what? "No I didn't. You burned it."

Aiden flipped me off from behind his sister before speaking again. "Details, details," he waved it off with a flick of his wrist. "So, baby, will you please make some breakfast?"

Lily just rolled her eyes and got to work. And I sat there, staring at her like a creep. Her hands moved really fast as she mixed another bater because Aiden dropped the previous one. And her hips swayed a little as she mixed. I should not be staring but I can't seem to stop myself.

"Lily baby, you're coming to the game right," Aiden asked while chewing on an apple.

"What game?"

That brought me out of my daze. "Our game. Tonight. You do know we play right? I'm the quarterback and Aiden's the running back."

"Yes, I do know that." She turned a little to glance at me before turning her attention back to the stove. "I don't know, who are you playing?"

"CALTECH," Aiden answered.

"Oh. Um- I'll ask my friends and see if they wanna go."

But Aiden wasn't having any of it. "You're coming. And you're wearing my jersey to show support."

She flipped the pancakes. "But I don't go to your school. And wouldn't people call me a traitor for supporting the rivals?"

Aiden snorted. "Okay, first of all, what people? Do people even know that you exist? And besides, you guys are going to lose. So you should just support us, be on the right side of history, you know."

Lily plated up the pancakes and slid the two plates in front of us. "But-"

This time I cut her off. "Look, Aiden's right. We're going to win. Everybody knows that. So you should totally wear my- I mean Aiden's jersey to show support to the winning team."

She raised her perfect eyebrow. "Aren't you guys being a little too cocky? You might lose."

That sentence sent Aiden into a laughing fit, even I smirked. "Good one, Lily," Aiden slapped her shoulder and walked out before walking back in with his jersey. "See ya later." With that he dragged me off to the field for practice.

"Thompson! Montgomery! Late!" Coach yelled. "Drills!"

We both started running laps around the field. After a while we're told to stop.

"Hey, Montgomery." A guy slapped my shoulder. "Ready for the game?"

I jerk his hand off. "Stay away from me, rookie."

I can hear my teammates laughing at the rookie. "Smith, didn't I tell you to stay away from Montgomery," Lucas, the wide receiver of our team, laughs, clapping the rookie and me on our shoulders. I just grunt in response and shrug his hand off.

I'm nervous. Which is unusual because I'm never nervous. Lily is going to come see the game, my game for the first time. I need to play well. No mistakes allowed.
