Someone to call mine

you and wendy wandered around the hall, looking for a spot to chill around. the amount of students that were huddled in the hallway was.. a lot.

you turned your head to wendy when you heard her small gasp.

"there's a spot right there!" she exclaimed, pointing to an empty bench. you smiled and nodded at her, the two of you walking towards the spot.

it was near the door to the stairwells, a huge window was in front of the bench and the sun beaming from the window made the spot look cozy and warm, which you liked. you let out a content sigh when the warmth of the sun hit your face, closing your eyes with a relaxed smile.

thank you sun, for giving me warmth and comfort.

you felt as if someone was staring at you, so you opened your eyes, staring right at wendy.

her face became pink when she realized she was caught. "i– uhm. did you want to talk to me or something?" she stuttered, now staring at the floor.

you giggled at her cute reaction.

"mm, i guess." you replied, "i just noticed something and i know it may be a sensitive topic for you."

you noticed how wendy's shoulder tensed as soon as you said that. maybe you should just leave it be..?

wendy let out a sigh and looked out the window with sad eyes. "i.. can i really talk about.. him..?"

ah. so you were right. her relationship must've been bad. really bad enough to make her feel this way.

you smiled softly at her. "of course, i'll be here to listen to you."

wendy poured her whole heart and soul out, surprising you with how much she had held in. you felt.. really bad for her. she had been dealing with this since she was young and had no one to talk to because she was afraid of being judged. you admired her for how strong she had continued to be even with all of the bad thoughts in her head.

the more deeper the conversation went by, the more closer you moved to her. by now, your arms were wrapped around her shoulder in a comforting manner and wendy was silently crying in your arms.

"t–thank you for listening to me, [y/n]." wendy sniffed, rubbing her eyes. she smiled gratefully at you which you returned back.
